When I took a 2021 Mach-E for a test drive, it was not a long test drive.

With this thread:

Can't deal with the bouncy ride anymore after two weeks with the Mach-E. What do I do?

I did not notice this during test drive. Does the trim level affect this? I ordered the Select RWD with 18" wheels which is the lightest version.

Guess discouraged with problems listed in forums here.

Still not a big fan of the Ioniq 5.

at the time thought this was the best option.

Have not heard much about the RWD versions since most order the AWD.

Would appreciate to hear from those who own the RWD Mach-E 's

I have the AWD Select with the 18 inch wheels and any bounce is minimal.

The car is heavy for its size, as we all know. so expect a little more movement on occasion for instance when hitting a bump in the road or sudden slowing. I felt it when driving in one pedal when suddenly having to abruptly stop as you let up on the peddle. This was on two test drives . This was on a rear wheel drive premium and once on an all wheel drive premium). I didn’t see it as a problem. I also tried the cars in 2 wheel drive to see if that changed anything and it was a much smoother ride.

We had ordered the rear wheel drive but because of length of waiting, we lucked out and got a GTPE someone had turned down. My memory of the test driving before ordering was that the Premium was slightly rougher but not a huge difference. I loved all of the rides. We love the GTPE , happy we made that choice. Husband wanted the magnaride. We get like 230 Miles per charge, which would have loved the 300 instead. But you can’t have everything!

these cars are so responsive, perhaps a few complaints come from the need learn to drive them more smoothly. I use Two pedal, Engaged and that seems to be a smooth happy medium with regen happening every time the foot is off the pedals. A better transition to braking for me . No lurching at all.

I had test driven awd select but ended up with job2 rwd route 1.

Now come to think of it, did feel the initial ride to be bouncy but didn't think much about it with all the excitement - now with around 3k miles, I believe that it's a bit bouncy within in the cities (on asphalt roads) but interstates are fun and smooth.

I hv not seen 300 miles range yet but range loss is already well documented here.

This is my first ev and the only downside for me was that I did not get an awd - handling in general in snow is good because of 1pd got stuck once going uphill in snow. Had initially booked premium awd but moved to route1 when it became available with the dealer

Do agree that looking at problems others had with the car on the 12v, becm, hvjb etc, does sound discouraging but then somebody else also pointed out the other day that this is probably with low 1% of the overall cars.

Overall very happy with the car so far

I would first check the tire pressures (in the US cars you can check this in the Ford Pass App under the vehicle status option). I found mine were set at 42 psi from the dealer and lowering them to 37 psi made a world of difference in the ride. I see you are in Canada, which I believe means you have Winter tires on right now. If that's the case, you might find that the ride improves once those come off in the Summer. If all else fails, you are in a good position to sell it and move on to something else.

In the two weeks I have had the car my love for it has only grown for it. I have put on just over 1,000 miles and I have found I have adapted to the way the car responds. As you know it is different from an ICE car and that did take a little time to get used to it. However, now that I have the MME it feels so much better than our ICE cars that when I switch over to an ICE car it feels like I have taken a step down. I now really see why some people say that after driving an EV for a while they find it hard to see themselves not buying EVs from now on.

I run 37 or 38 in my Select. I don't find the car bouncy but I do think they tried for a more Sporty feel and the rig is heavy of course most roads here in Florida are nice and smooth.

The complaints about bounce are primarily from those who drive concrete roads or highways with sections that are slightly out of level with adjoining sections. It’s uncommon on asphalt roads although it can occurs on asphalt roads with waves from overweight trucks.

Exactly, I only felt the bouncing ride once, on a concrete road when I was driving out of town. I also felt it in my previous car to a lesser degree on the same road. Where I live, no issue, all asphalt roads.

There are no concrete roads or highways in my area. Actually never came across concrete hwy in my life.

If it is 1% of the cars, than that is not too bad.

Remember that people on this forum are enthusiasts who are going to dissect every issue with the car even if they love it madly. My only problems will bounce are on concrete roads with expansion joints, which widen and lead to a hobby horse effect in winter. You just posted you don’t have those around you - that’s good.

I think you’re going to love your MME but will maybe need/want winter tires given your location. I’ve been fine so far with AWD here in MN but will probably get tires for next winter. Good luck!

I am unhappy with the bounce. I am not unhappy with the car.

BIG DIFFERENCE!

I don't regret buying the MME

As far as tires are concerned , I plan on changing to Nokian WR G4 or Nokian Encompass AW01.

I have a premium RWD. I don't find the ride bump. My tires are 40. I love the car. I'm just a regular driver. Not a motor head or a super car enthusiast. I was looking for a few years for a reliable car that was exciting. I found the perfect car.
