The signal-to-noise ratio for SecureAlert notifications is pretty bad. Turning it off.

Too noisy as in the default alert sound on your phone is too load? It to noisy as in you don't want it on all the time?

If it's the former, I think you can just select the ring tone or notification tone you like on your phone.

If it's the latter, then yeah, turn it off when you would normally turn off an alarm. Or set a schedule. Just like any alarm, if you leave it on all the time, it'll be annoying.

I also turn off alarms if I'm going to be present or I'm using the doors (car, house or whatever).

These types of alarms aren't meant to be on all the time. They are for when you are away.

I keep it on and set a custom alert sound for the Ford Pass app via the Android notifications panel, so that it's very distinctive and immediately gets my attention. I also set the notifications to come through even when do not disturb is enabled on my phone at night while I sleep.

Securialert is nice idea in theory, but I agree that it creates far too many notifications. Unless you use the scheduling feature to ignore any day time events, and set it to alert only at night, or during times when you know for sure you are not using the vehicle.

Despite the flood of alerts, I leave it enables and the distinctive alert I set is enough for me to quickly be notified that my vehicle was accessed, rather than hearing the same alert sound that every other app makes, and potentially missing a real event as it's actually happening.

What I would like to see as an expansion of this feature, is that when you open the app and select "report incident" I would love it if the vehicle could be flagged to "phone home" to Ford with a few minutes worth of video leading up to the event. The video could be captured locally within a buffer on board the vehicle, and only transmitted to Ford if it's a real event that you actually intend to report to police. This would be invaluable information, along with vehicle positioning data to actually help advance the investigation by local authorities.

It would be more useful if it would only alert if door is opened when PaaK or fob are not within proximity.
The issue is to address cloning of keys. This, like most alarms, is a backup to the primary anti-theft device (key).

When I said noisy I was referring to the signal-to-noise ratio in my post, not audible noise or phone popup notifications (which are fine). What I mean is there are way too many unnecessary items on the list. As you can see in my screenshot, I had 66+ notifications logged after just a couple of days of driving.

I guess I could see it being useful if I parked outside or at an office and I utilized the time-of-day scheduling. I have a single-family home with an attached garage and work from home so it's not really something I need I guess.

Is key cloning a major issue? I was using it for when Walk Away Lock doesn't work and I realize 10 hours later my car's been unlocked all day when I head home.

Cloning of keys is the primary way vehicles are stolen now.

All you guys talking about how this feature is useless are showing your age.

I'm not sure if it's a big issue, but people are concerned about it..

It's useless because the signal to noise ratio is horrendous. It cries wolf so often, that you're either going to disable it or ignore it and the one time there's actually a wolf, you won't notice. It tells me that I opened the door when it was opened from the inside after turning off the car (for all four doors if four passengers). There is no intelligence at all with it. I did try setting a schedule on it, but every time I tried, I'd get a 'FordPass is not responding' error.

I can see potentially turning it on when I park in a shady area. However, getting an alert 5-10 minutes later is really of no use either. If there's no opportunity to take immediate action to remedy the door being opened, getting alerts has no value. Simply have an option to log events like door opens, car starts, etc for retrieval in case you need to file a police report. Maybe even log 30 seconds or so of video like another car does...

Again, you don’t understand its value. If it doesn’t alert you every time your door opens, in this day and age when cars are primarily stolen via code replication, it would have less value. You guys asking for “intelligent” features like only alerting you when your fob isn’t present (which the car has no way of differentiating from a fake one) makes it sound like you still think it’s some “punk” in a leather jacket with a coat hanger gonna jack your Mach E.

Seems you guys also bigly misunderstand the number 1 determinant of vehicle recovery if one is stolen—time to notification of law enforcement. Which is why the app allows you to notify police immediately. That “no value” alert might be the difference between you getting it back or not.

I will concede getting a sentry mode would be awesome though.
