"Don't come knocking if you see this van is bouncing."
This is embarrassing. Bouncing? Where did you learn to rhyme?

The proper quote is:

If the van's a rockin'
Don't Come A Knockin'

;)

I have a fully updated iPhone 14 Pro and I get this periodically - usually when the car is in the 80% range. I use CarPlay all the time and I've not been able to correlate the message to anything other than (in my recollection) it has always been wrong.

That said, I just ignore it and get on with my life.
But I always follow up with what version arE you on since many many people think they are on the latest when that isn’t the case. ;)

This just started happening to me about 2 weeks ago. It's intermittent. It's only happened about 3 times, but it's annoying.

I have never seen that low battery message on the lock screen and I use Apple Maps and CarPlay daily.

My rhyming is just fine - it’s my memory that isn’t

If you're on iOS 16.5 you may want to remove the vehicle from Maps and re-add it to clear any bad data out. I'm on iOS 17 beta and haven't had the issue at all. (Though definitely other bugs in CarPlay.) However when I was on iOS 16.5 I didn't really have issues, and iOS 16.6 betas I didn't have them almost at all. 16.6 should be out in a few weeks here, otherwise definitely removing the vehicle and re-adding it will help fix things up too.

Yeah if you're on beta, bug are expected since everything breaks. It is also not software to use to troubleshoot issues on other OSs versions since it's "unfinished". So the bug might be fixed, or it might not be. Only Apple knows.

If you're seeing a behavior that isn't expected, report it in Feedback Assistant and watch for data requests from Apple. That's how you know it's a widespread issue or not. If they ignore the report, it means it isn't an issue and a local problem only. Apple just won't ever tell you that sadly.

Yes, I use the Feedback Assistant all the time. A few of my 3rd party apps have issues but I don't care about that. They will get sorted out by the time the OS is no longer a beta. I used to work for Apple many years ago as an independent certified technician (hardware) and don't mind issues at all.

So, yes I understand it's annoying. But there is a reason it's happening. The App does NOT hand the better data to the vehicle. It can only share data when the vehicle is connected via CarPlay. The numbers can get very off if you don't always use CarPlay.

I rarely get this notification, but definitely have when the battery wasn't low. Reconnecting the phone resolves the issue.

Bluetooth connections don't data share like CarPlay does since the Wifi connection has more bandwidth to handoff more data. So it doesn't matter if your connected to bluetooth. If you don't use CarPlay on trips, then I would suggest removing the vehicle in Apple Maps to disconnect the EV routing features.
No. Many people don't use fruit phones, and never have any CarPlay issues, because the only playing in the car they do, well, is none of your business. ?
Do you actually know what the split is in Mach E owners between Apple and Android?
