I see some others have had this issue some time back, I'm wondering if anyone has a current solution. Since new I've never been able to set a charge level less than 100%. I have set the charge schedule for both weekdays and weekends according to the off-peak times and set the charge level to 90% and clicked the use preferred charge settings in the app. What am I doing wrong?

Set the limits in the car via the SYNC screen.

If you're using 110v, it won't follow any of the settings the time period settings, because it cannot hit the target, so it starts immediately.

To use 120v in a specific time period, buy a WiFi outlet. Works great!

I did set on the SYNC screen unless there's some other place that I'm not aware of and it is level 2 charging

Nope, that's the right place to do it. You might try deleting the home charging location in the car and adding it again via SYNC (not in FP app).

That's not the case for my 2022 Premium. I plug into a standard outlet at work all the time, and it stops charging at 90% per my target charge level. I even get a notification on my iPhone telling me it's reached my intended charge.

We see the same at home. We've been swapping between a cheap, portable, plug-in L2 and the mobile Ford L1 chargers for the past year. The car doesn't care and always follows our charge limit settings unless we charge on DCFC or charge at a new location. We have seen a couple of charge to 100% sessions when the car undergoes an update (but not for all updates).

How would the vehicle know what AC voltage you are using?
120v disregards time settings because it cannot reach the targeted SOC, so it starts immediately.

But I think the charge limit is still honored. At least that’s what I recall from about a year ago.

It is. The time settings might be ignored if the charge limit is unreachable within the time settings. But, in my experience, the maximum charge % is still honored (unless something weird like a vehicle update occurs).

It would be nice if we could set the location-based charging to prioritize time over SOC when necessary.

Yes, I believe you are correct. I couldn't remember that from 2 years ago.

Yup - we discussed this in a thread 2 years ago.
I hate to think what else would break if they tried to add this feature! ?

Yeah, I remember that conversation and the issues people had trying to find the logical union between the "smart" EVSEs and the car's charging profiles to work around the car's limitation.

For me it's not a big deal. I have a time-of-use electric plan, and if the L1 charger sometimes charges within peak, it's only an ~1 kW charge rate so it'll likely never be the big draw that creates a big bill for me.

I remember the discussion. Since this issue existed in 2018 with our Fusion Energi, I think it will be resolved after Jim gets his frunk button... ?
