I’m in the process of getting a 2026 GT/CS. I currently have a MY21 Job 1 Premium 4X. I never even unwrapped the tire mobility kit in my current car until I had to replace the bottle of goop. Other than one or two long distance (Florida, New England) “road trips”, all my travel is fairly local. I’m not sure if I want to get the Tire mobility Kit. It annoys me that it’s not included and that I have to decide. Right now, I’m leaning towards not getting it. Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks! I’ll look at aftermarket options after I get the car.

You can get an aftermarket inflator, bottle of fix a flat/slime, and a plug kit for less.

Unless you just REALLY want it to fit neatly in the spot under the cargo floor like the OEM one.
Thanks for the top. They have to be replaced every 3-4 years ?I have one in my 2025 ME

Yes. There is an expiration date on the bottle of goop. You can see it on the back of the kit (there’s a cutout window to see it through).

Not sure if you're getting rid of your '21, but maybe just keep the old one? If you're selling or trading it in, the tire kit wouldn't make any difference in what you get for it, I would think.

Let's be clear, nothing HAS TO BE REPLACED at 4 years. Ford doesn't want a situation where you go to use the can of sealant, and it doesn't function. Cans of sealant aren't pricey, it's the can that fits into the compressor, sold by Ford, that is pricey. Many threads on buying the sealant elsewhere and filling the can. Or, just keep a can of fix a flat in the vehicle and don't use the fancy combined compressor.

True, but I may sell it to a friend of mine (he’s expressed an interest, but …) If I sell it to him, I’d like him to have things like the mobile charger and the tire inflation kit.

I would go one of two ways:
1. Get an actual spare tire (eg https://modernspare.com/product/2020-2026-ford-mach-e-spare-tire-kit-options/)
2. Get a roadside assistance membership

Actual spare is expensive and heavy, but it’s a one time cost. Roadside assistance takes a while to come usually, but will usually flatbed you to a tire shop for a proper repair.
I live in a fairly urban area, so I went roadside assistance

I actually have roadside assistance 2 or three ways (credit card, auto insurance, and Ford Roadside Assistance), so I take that into account as well.

Why not this option?

3. Call and pay for roadside assistance when needed. (Without membership.)

The vehicle comes with 5 years / 60,000 miles of FREE roadside assistance.

Correct, but mine is past those limits. I considered buying roadside assistance from insurance, but their pricing is high especially when considering that they'll penalize me in future premiums if I actually use the assistance. AAA also seems a little high for coverage I may never use. So then I considered, why prepay for a tow plan at all?

Ford's Extended Service Plan includes roadside assistance.
