So Ford changed something on the order tracking page, https://shop.ford.com/vehicleordertracking, and it doesn't work. Simply clears out the info, tried in 2 browsers. That is not the reason for this post.

The reason for this post is, why aren't there a dozen threads screaming that the order status is broken, and they cannot see if their car is finished? What is wrong? o_O

Thanks for posting about this. I actually only discovered the site last week and then when I went back to it over the weekend, it stopped working as you described. I thought I was going crazy!

Hahahahaha it goes in and out all the time. It wasn't working earlier this week and was working Wednesday and Thursday. Its just par for the course!
What he said .......... it goes in and out multiple times during a single aside from having a mind of its own most of the time. Take it from someone that's refreshed the page a million times over the last 6 months or so.

A good time for a periodic reminder to please turn off 2-way ignore. It's the humane decision. ;)
I wonder how many people's comments I can't see because I'm 2-way ignored ??

I believe the more humane decision is not to ignore anyone. I never have ignored anyone, I just keep a mental sh*t-list and some people have redeemed themselves ?

The only members I ignore are the wheel advertisers and the folks who consistently try to depress us. It's a very short list.

I took one of them off the sh*t-ist recently. I decided his one sentence, why hasn't my newer, faster, most expensive Mach-E gotten OTA updates like the First Edition I already sold posts were just pure "gold" comedy. ?

Two points. In Chrome, try right clicking on the link and choose "Open link in incognito window." Sometimes that's the only way that link works for me.
Second, 2 days ago that link finally showed "Built" and "Shipped" after being "In Production" since 1/15. Since there was no arrival date I checked again today, and it is not showing built or shipped, just in production!?!
Que sera, sera.

Here is what is wrong, nobody thinks any of something from Ford not working. Just SOP, that’s why there is no outrage. Happens all the time.

So, an interesting thing I noticed when the tracking page isn’t working, it has nothing to do with cookies, incognito mode, or the browser you are using. It appears that it has something to do with the backend system not responding properly to your specific order.

Next time it dumps you back to the screen that asks for the 4-digit order number, and the VIN, try changing just one character of one of those fields. I.e if your order number is 7628, make it 7629. You will get an error message that says “We're sorry. We are unable to process this Order. Please enter a valid Ford Order/VIN..” That tells you that the backend is attempting to validate the input given, and then subsequently look up the info for your order. I don’t know why it is failing to retrieve the order. Some days it works for me, and sometimes it doesn’t no rhyme or reason.

Great tip, I will give it a try this afternoon when Order Tracking starts looping again.

My experience is that I can see a status about once a week, about the duration my ISP leases an IP address to the modem - I personally was guessing that it was some overfed DDoS prevention that was keeping track of the incoming IP address, order number and VIN. ;)

I can confirm that after being able to see the tracking details yesterday, the page just looped on me this morning.

-and-

that "... changing just one character of one of those fields. I.e if your order number is 7628, make it 7629. You will get an error message that says “We're sorry. We are unable to process this Order. Please enter a valid Ford Order/VIN..” " worked for me. Thanks devmach-e.

Now to actually go pick up the car.
