You also burned gasoline for over 50 years. You talked on a phone attached to the wall for 50 years. You physically got up and turned a knob on your tv for a different channel for over 30 years.

I don't understand this argument.
Lol, I use PAAK so much now, I've gotten in my older car and been like "Crap, I forgot this antiquated pile needs a piece of metal to start, now I have to get out and find it"

Explaining what a key is to grandchildren will be interesting. Right now teenagers don't even know what a dial tone is anymore.

I have walked away without locking my wife's car and rental cars so many times since I got my MME 6 months ago. It's crazy we used to have to turn a key, push a button, or tap a handle to lock the car!

I use the phone app when at work, at home, in a restaurant, etc. I check the charging, start/stop charging, lock or unlock, open/close the windows, start the car to warm/cool the cabin, set a departure time, update a departure time, send an address to trip planner, etc.

Why would I make a point of closing the app, forcing me to have to reopen it later to do such things?

I carry a fob because I have pockets and I don’t want [in my testing, theoretical,] issues of PAAK delaying me. Lately I use my frunk button that isn’t in FordPass but is on my updated fob. From time to time I find it easier to use the fob rather than the app to open all the windows on a hot day. I like to use the fob as I approach to unlock the car from a distance for those passengers that are faster than me or to give the hatch time to open fully before I arrive with my bags. Much easier than fumbling with a phone in bright sunlight while walking across a parking lot pushing a cart or carrying bags.

I set PAAK up to enable the code to allow keyless driving. I trust PAAK to lock the car behind me. I trust it for the rare times I would rather not bring the fob.

My question would be why doesn’t everyone carry the fob most of the time?
I never have my phone in my pocket because it’s too big. I carry it in my sling bag. I keep my fob in my pocket. Therefore I use it far more than my phone for basic functions.

There is no hoping. This is how we use our Mach-E, and how it works.

We have Android phones, not fruit phones, so no idea how CarPlay works.
What is a ā€œfruit phone?ā€

There is no issue with both of you carrying fobs, or phones. The car determines what's in the driver's seat. Rarely does it pull in the other signal. We have PaaK on both phones, and both carry fobs.
My wife keeps the FOB in her purse... I have PAAK on my iPhone with FordPass running in the background. Sometimes I drive alone, sometimes she drives alone, sometimes I drive with her as the passenger.

It seems like it always defaults to her profile... it cannot sense that I am sitting with my phone in the driver's seat, and that she and the FOB are in the passenger seat (or that she is not going on this trip).

If she is not around and I manually select my profile it seems to remember my profile - until we go for a ride together.

Which of our cellphones is selected by SYNC is a whole different can or worms... (mostly chooses my phone even when she is driving and it has auto selected her profile).

Just in case…ya know you can switch to your profile by pressing your seat/window memory button on the door without having to dive into the main screen.

That is all.

On many of our cars, when the fault occurs where the Guest profile loads instead of the expected profile then we are also locked out from changing profiles. A hard Sync reboot is the only way to get the system to allow us to select our desired profile.

I think we figured out what happens. I have departure time set to 8 AM and set to warm cabin. My wife is putting the kids in the car before 8 so when the the climate comes from turns on it locks all the doors. Turned climate control off so let’s see if they does anything.
