SSM 49944 - 8 July 2021 - 2021 Mustang Mach-E/F-150 - SYNC 4 - Various SYNC Concerns - Engineering Investigation

Some 2021 Mustang Mach-E/F-150 vehicles may exhibit audio settings resetting after a key cycle, Android Auto concerns, Sirius presets missing more than three pages after a key cycle, touchscreen intermittent freezing/locking up, Pro Power Onboard messaging confusion after a tripped circuit breaker (F-150 only), WiFi keyboard defaulting to UK English, WMA files not playing properly from a USB and/or Bluetooth connectivity concerns. There may be a software concern in the APIM.Ford is working on an update that is expected via over the air (OTA) in July 2021. The software will update automatically if Vehicle Connectivity is turned ON.Inform the customer that they can continue to drive the vehicle. Contact the customer in August to determine if they received the update. If the customer needs assistance, schedule a follow-up appointment. Monitor OASIS for updates.

END SSM

Anyone with a later build (like May, June) post their sync 4 software version? I'm curious if it is different than my January built car.

Maybe we'll finally get some Sync 4 updates to make it work better though previously they said an update was coming...I guess it didn't? I wish we could find the IVSUs like people have for Sync 3 so we could update as they make releases instead of having to wait for the official OTA updateable ones. Sync 4 works pretty well for me but if they polish it a little bit more I'll be even happier.

My sound settings reset every time I cycle power… sounds like time to contact my dealership.

What is your expectation in doing so?

Reading the SSM, it sounds like this particular message is informing service departments about a known issue for which there is no fix available until it is pushed OTA.

It says for dealers to contact the customer in August so I would wait until the end of the month and see if you get the update.

Fascinating. Let’s recall that Ford has already issued an earlier SSM re audio settings not saving.

SM 49673 - 2021 Mustang Mach-E - March 17, 2021 - Sirius Presets/Audio Settings Not Saving After A Key Cycle - Engineering Investigation

Some 2021 Mustang Mach-E vehicles may experience a symptom of Sirius presets not saving after a key cycle for additional pages 4-6 or audio settings for tone, balance, speed compensated volume or sound mode not saving after a key cycle. Inform the customer that Ford is developing software that will be programmed to the vehicle via an over-the-air (OTA) update in 2Q 2021. Let the customer know they can continue to drive the vehicle and schedule a follow-up appointment for May2021. Once the update becomes available, contact the customer to ask whether they received the OTA update and confirm if the service appointment is going forward. Monitor OASIS for updates.

END SSM
No update materialized in Q2.

This newest SSM expands the list of bugs (many of which I don’t think have ever been raised on this forum) BUT STILL NO MENTION of the Alarm Interior Motion Sensor Off setting. Ugh.

My expectation is to have them know that I am one of the customers they should contact in august.

The Alarm Interior Motion Sensor Off issue is especially annoying. I share your pain. (MME Premium, RWD ER: December 2020 build; February 2021 delivery)

Mine as well, but if you set your audio settings and then save them to your user profile (ie: hold down #1 on the door until you hear the beep) , the settings should save. Then, next time if they don't load up when you get into the car, hit another user profile (ie: hit #2 or 3 on the door) and then go back and hit your profile #1, they should load without having to go back into the screen. Pretty annoying but seems to be working for me.

I never thought about the sound settings being tied to a user profile. I’ll try this.

Oh my god... No matter how many times I turn off the motion sensor in the settings, and even if I choose to disable it at the prompt when leaving the vehicle, it *still* goes off every couple weeks. Just happened yesterday--my poor dog... :-(
