That is spot on with my experience. Go 72 or 75 and pay the price for lower range.

This is the kind of stuff that I look for. Range is based on 55 mph and while some parts of the states still have highways at that speed, there are other parts of the country where you can go 70-75 mph on the highway.

I wish the govt would update their guidelines to reflect 70 mph going forward.

This is pretty spot on with my experience with my SR AWD MME. Got almost 240 on week thanks to traffic but otherwise averages around 215-225.

I will be doing the 75mph, 6000 foot ascent range test this weekend in my CA Route 1. Going from Phoenix to Grand Canyon south rim, AC will be working hard at the start of the trip. Planning a charging stop in Williams AZ, 180 miles from my house, and the last DFDC on the way to the canyon. It is 60 miles from Williams to Grand Canyon. So I want enough charge to make that round trip, plus sightseeing, after charging.

Just out of curiosity.... what is the 90% to 40% range like on SR AWD?

If 100% is 226 miles then 90%-40%=50% - and for 50% the range would be 113 miles, I guess...
I most likely would have been fine ordering a standard range then. :p

You can still modify your order if you do not have the build date yet. But for some people, like me, it will always be "what if"? :) I have Standard range RWD and when I was on a trip from SF to LA, I was thinking why didn't I order Extended range. Then I came back home and was like - good thing I didn't order Extended range - I don't need it for my daily commute :). Always "what if"...

The EPA combined rating on that car is 211 miles

Frankly, these tests are meaningless, because everybody's driving conditions are different and the efficiency can vary widely. Just recently I've driven from San Francisco and got the efficiency of 1.8 mi/kWh. Not because of the temperature, or wind, or speed, but because of slight elevation. Then going on I-280 the efficiency went to 2.7mi/kWh, that's a 50% improvement in a matter of 20 minutes.
