Mach E... I hope soon.

SO bored with all the Tesla chatter. I imagine there's a Tesla forum... (hint, hint)
We know Ford reads these. My dealer told me the good salesmen read these religiously. I hope what we are saying makes it’s way up.

I‘m a recently-heavy Tesla poster not because I’m really into Tesla, but because I’ve literally been driven into their arms by Ford’s choices. Ford has become like that hot girl all your friends tell you is bad for you but you’re just smitten. I hate waking up because I loved the way that car felt, but this slightly less hot alternative has done nothing but treat me well in all dealings with them.

These Tesla posts aren’t about Tesla. They’re about Ford failures. Tesla is just the grindstone, the point of reference for what is possible.

And, that's why this entire thread is under the; Mach-E vs The Competition

FSD is not usable on the Bay Bridge, and never has been. So it couldn't have been involved in the crash. The most you can have activate there is just autopilot assist.
What is the source of this claim? Everytime there is an AP/FSD accident, Tesla and its apologists claim it wasn't its software, FSD couldn't have been enabled on that road, and a million other excuses.

Looking at the surveillance footage obtained by CNN, it sure looks like a software issue. This kind of sudden braking issue for nothing is well known for at least 2-3 years in various Tesla forums. I'd say, 99.9% chance whatever source you are basing this on is lying and it WAS on AP/FSD.

I’d like to say we’re having a civil discussion because we’re passionate about the car. Try going to a tesla board and see how quickly the conversation will change.

The Bay Bridge is a highway. Anytime you get on a highway FSD will disable and switch to Autopilot with a notable audio queue, a text alert to notify the driver of the change and their responsibility to be alert, and the UI changes to autopilot.

As of now FSD and autopilot on highways are two completely different software stacks. The highway stack is the legacy software stack from 2014/2015. Its not until FSD version 11 expected here in the coming weeks that the highway stack will be merged with FSD and finally be on the same platform.

So any highway situation is not FSD to this point in time until the functionality is live on highways.

Why are you reading it, I'm sure there are many non Tesla threads on this forum? (hint, hint) ?
Came in to say my piece. That's what forums are for. Would just like the focus to be on the MME.

I totally understand and I'm not trying to pick on you but, you do understand that this particular thread is under the forum section of "Mach-E vs the Competition" don't you? In other words the owners/administrators of the Mach E forum specifically created this section so that folks could discuss the competition. No one is forced to read or post anything in there unless they choose to.

I like that forum members discuss something other than the Mach E, I personally don't like living in a cocoon or frequenting an echo chamber.

If Tesla is in such dire straits, why don’t they open up more revenue to be made from Superchargers by opening it up to CCS users? Just make it happen already! Be a charging network provider before being an automaker
Probably because the minute the Supercharger network is available to all is the minute Tesla loses one of its best selling points.

I actually did not know that. I just kept seeing it move to the top of the most recent list and wondered why all the Tesla talk on a Mach-e Forum. I'm not up on all the sections. Thanks for pointing that out. I'm a relative newbie compared to many of you.

Yeah, that is strange how everything no matter what section moves to the top of it is being discussed. But, I do get you not wanting to read all about Tesla stuff.

When the Mach E was announced we placed a reservation and a week later cancelled the 3 order we had that was ready to be built. I had expected the build quality and ride to be better than what Tesla was offering, (mostly true) and the price on the MME was about $2k less so we were willing to wait. It helped that my first car was a 67 mustang, so nostalgia was a factor here.

Now with the issues I’ve had with my problem child and more importantly the price difference I don’t think I would make the same decision, even if Elon has gone from garden variety jerk to extreme asshat. I still prefer the MME of course overall.

We were looking at a Volvo C40 (polestar) at the end of last year for my spouse, not realizing they lost the tax credit in August, but those are crazy overpriced now- if you look at range/sw/screen- even though the Volvo had a better ride and quieter interior.

Tesla’s price cut may harm companies like Volvo and Polestar more than the big 3, if they don’t or can’t respond, but dealers continuing to do the ADM dance still can’t help.
