Wouldn't the Y Performance be a better comparison to the GT?
Probably.

But since GT isn’t available right now I wanted to do as close to an apples to apples MY LR v MME Premium ER AWD - just to get a feel for whether I’d even consider the MY.

Really? My Volt has held up pretty well. Got a 2nd gen I picked up in 2016.
Ours, Victor, has been a great car. He has 110,000KM and is a 2017. It's our only vehicle and we put him through his paces. Up until this year 70% of our travel was on battery but this year its fallen down to 40% and the engine in the Volt isn't great, as you can probably attest. Especially when you need power to get up to speed on highway on ramps. Our biggest problem is the interior is starting to show its age. The trunk compartment for the EV charger broke off, we are obviously beyond warranty and we are starting to notice a few things here and there (rear seatbelt broke recently).

But generally speaking I have nothing but good things to say about what GM did when they came out with the Volt.

I’ve got a 2017 Volt as well (Voltemort) and still love it (except for the seats). It is a great car for what it is and when it was developed. But I can’t wait to replace it with my MME in a few weeks.

The seats are atrocious. Would love to meet the ergonomics specialist who designed them.

We’ve deliberated on this and don’t know exactly. I would argue the bottom seat angle and the back seat angle are off. Puts a lot of pressure on your hip joints and lumbar spine. The headrest angle is very odd too.

At least in ours, they are very hard with little cushion. And they are manual, no power adjustment at all. I’m sure it was done that way to save on cost and weight.

Yeah. I picked up an e-tron premium plus this weekend, so no Mach-E for a few years. Cancelled my GT reservation. Hopefully these issues are worked out when I’m back in the market.
