Many of us here use the PL6100 because the car is capable of drawing 40A while updating which we have seen several times and the PL2320 I believe only goes to 20A. The PL2320 is probably good for 90% of the updates but I would not want to chance the battery dropping below 12V when updating.
That's why I double them up for FDRS...

2x PL2320 are cheaper than 1x PL6100 and get the job done.

I was wondering when I would get 23-PU0722-DC-CHG3 as an OTA, but it turns out I applied the update in August 2023. My car is almost current as I used FDRS to apply PowerUp 6.4.0 in October, and PowerUps 6.2.1, 6.3.0, 6.6.0, and 6.7.0 a few days ago. The only OTA update I seem to be missing is the small one to the GWM.

Hopefully PowerUp 6.5.0 will be released soon.

40 amps? Well.......damn.
Yeah but we have members here, and on the Lightning forum who just double-up two PL2320s and it works fine.

Ahh...I see Lee beat me to it. I should have kept reading before responding.

I think i mentioned that I had a TCU in my list the other day....finally got back to the house and did that update yesterday evening and right afterward an IPC popped up. So I've just done that one (it is a USB update).

I got a note I hadn't seen before saying it could take up to 22 minutes for the files to download....this was after the files were already on the USB drive (which took like a minute). So I'm assuming they were talking about the files downloading from the USB drive to the car. But it actually only took like 5 minutes total for that to happen. I'm assuming this IPC would have shown up for me as an OTA but obviously at this point I don't have a clue as to what 6.x.x it would be. I'm kinda waiting on the IPMA to show up now.

EDIT: Went back out to start the car up. I got the "Update Successful" note at the top of the screen and it was safe to remove the USB drive. At which point it verified that the one file it had updated using the USB drive had "Passed".
I wasn't expecting what happened next. FDRS then proceeded to shut the IPC off and erased and programmed more blocks while the car was running. Took another 3-4 minutes. So that was interesting. Never seen a combo USB/CAN buss update like that before. But it all went well.

Interesting data on FDRS

Oktober 11 the APIM OTA was deployed/failed and reverted
Oktober 12 Manually installed APIM (took hours), got one module that failed, but the update remained.
Starting Oktober 13 until now i have a error message " Lost Communication With Accessory Protocol Interface Module" every day !

The APIM remains to work ok, but maybe it is time to update all remaining modules with FDRS.....

Tried to login to FDRS today, but servers are offline.

Yeah I get that too.....I kept hitting the Login button repeatedly...and then when that didn't work I hit the "Create Account" button and that took me to a HTTP 400 page...and when I clicked "Return to previous page" it decided to let me in.

It's been doing this for a while now...and that's how I've been getting in. I already submitted a ticket. I've gotten no response so far.

I can login on the motorcraft site and see everything. It even asked me to change my loginname for the email adress. That part works fine. It is the login inside FDRS that fails.

Yeah..I know...it's no longer accepting Username logins here...only your email address and password for your motorcraft account.

Wondering if this is the IPC update to stop the buzzing?!? @Gimme_my_MME any chance of a confirmation?

I’ve been letting mine update through OTAs only, since @Mach-Lee mentioned the 6.6 ABS update in FDRS doesn’t seem to match the OTA. Though I believe someone reported doing the ABS update in FDRS and still getting 6.6 OTA.

The files match, I was just saying I wasn't sure the ABS configuration was getting updated to enable the automatic parking brake. But I've seen reports that's working now (or the OTA fixed it), so maybe they fixed it since I posted that. So I wouldn't let that hold you back if you were waiting to update, go ahead.

In my case it was just the ECU Configuration that got updated from LK9C-14C602-DS to LK9C-14C602-DT when I updated ABS a few days ago. FDRS also downloaded the strategy (LK9C-2D053-CK) file, but my car got that back in May as part of PowerUp 4.2.6. It makes sense as both ECU Configuration revisions are meant for that strategy revision and it assures the strategy is at the right revision. It can be a little confusing if you do not keep track of the revision levels. I have a giant spreadsheet to note the part numbers of the revisions.

I noticed the Parking Brake would come on if the car was on an incline before the update and it seems to do it anytime the car is parked after the update.

Last year the tail of my MME went over an embankment after backing out of a friend's driveway on a dark night. It ended up with part of the frame resting on the ground. Fortunately another friend had a pickup truck and a rope. It would have been easier to get the car back on the road if I knew the parking brake was on. There were big ruts in the embankment from the tires. Fortunately no damage.

Since I never touched the parking brake, I did not realize it was on and did not pay attention to the driver display. I looked up how to turn off the parking brake later on, and I practiced a few times turning it off and on when I was on an incline.
