I have read most of this thread but all 379 pages are tough. Is there a recent consensus on the most cost effective OBD J2534 option and 12V power supply? I have a RWD car, do I really need a full 50A capable supply or would 30A be enough, etc? Now that my 2021 is out of warranty and OTAs have stalled since 6.14.0 I'm ready to dive in and bring this thing up to date.
The Mongoose is consensus. As for power supplies, a lot use the Clore PL6100, but there are less expensive options.

Power supply is the thing I’m struggling with a bit in the uk.

I'm thinking this might work? https://www.screwfix.com/p/ring-rcb...4v/32587#product_additional_details_container

In Europe, Ford only enable BC on 2023+

My 2021 Job1 (Spain) have bluecruise in APIM. But I cant use because not subscription available in fordpass
That's really a shame because the limit is not the hardware or software.....it must have been a marketing decision.

Yes, and that's why they're going to lose a customer. I was thinking of buying another one and leaving this one to my wife but...

Do I need to install also this ā€œenable bluicruise prep kitā€?
No, that won't do anything for you. Have you been able to find the VIN of another MME in your with working BC? It's either the config in the IPMA or the activation of the service itself from Ford. If it's config, I can help but if it's the cloud based service that needs to be turned on, only Ford can do that.

Nope, didn’t find a VIN number yet.
I hope to find one soon.

I should note that my jump box’s 50A fuse worked just fine for my 2021 It blew up doing updates on my 2024. So, it appears that the power requirements changed some time between 2021 and 2024. I rewired for a Maxi fuse instead of an ATO and placed a 60A fuse in there. I haven’t tried to use that for an update yet. ??

Mongoose is the way to go.

This is the power supply I used:

First FDRS session, how absolutely wild it went!

Thank you so much to everyone on this thread on the information, which made it fairly simple!

It took about 4 hours for me to complete every module I could see.

The only issues I had were module 1; the TCU - I wasn’t sure if it had taken as FDRS said it needed checked or something but it seemed to scan it again and was happy enough.

Big scary errors at the end where SOBDMC was not recognising the gear update - ā€˜stop vehicle now’ which wouldn’t clear, but then eventually running one of the procedures cleared it. 15 minutes of nerves there.

My only additional advice would be, don’t do it in the dark like I did, while it’s cold, as it gets really cold and really dark haha.

When do the modules refresh? I’m on 6.2.1 but theres no APIM’s or anything to get to newer showing on FDRS. I assume it maybe thinks about it for a wee while before offering more?

It can be the next day or the next week that you see something show up again.

Thank you!

More generally also thank you for the time put in walking the steps through. I wouldn’t have tackled it without this thread.

I’m unsure how far behind it am but it’s gonna be somewhat interesting doing this regularly. The car makes a lot of noise and generates a ton of awkward messages.

Am I right in thinking IPMA is somewhat less common with its size and time?
