i agree.
looking forward to what ford has cooked up in it's next compact/mid-size EV platform.
the mach-e was adapted to fit, it sounds like, more compliance-type car platform, so less performance oriented. the designers did their best (and looks-wise, did a pretty awesome job), but the platform is definitely showing it's age. it still functional as a daily driver and it's feature-set and build quality are still pretty competitive with what's out there. some of the recent model 3 revisions are just catching up to a 3 year old mach-e (ie. sound-insulating glass), while others "updates" or lack-thereof make it even less attractive to me than the gen 1 mach-e (removing shifter, still no driver's display, no rear cross-traffic, etc).
agree, the gen2 mach-e ideally would not just be a face-lift, but an entirely new platform, preferably 800v, take other learnings from gen 1 and the competition (target the macan
) in terms of efficiency, OTA updates, ride quality, etc.
the styling is still great... just widen the wheelbase a bit
