You technically do have dog mode in the Mach-E (start car; turn off auto-shutoff; use Sketch to write "don't smash my windows plz"; use keypad to lock doors). Admittedly not a one-button click, but it's there.
And it's limited to 30 minutes or infinite time and can't be shut off from the phone once you left it running.

Yes, they replaced a device that had zero moving parts (to generate heat) with a device that uses pumps, valves, and fluids to generate heat. And claim the tube Goldberg contraption is “more efficient” ?
Lol. The "non-moving" part (heating element)has a thermal efficiency of 100%, while a heat pump has a thermal efficiency of around 300% since it is not generating heat, it is simply moving it from one place to another. The car already have those "moving parts", they are called an AC. A heat pump in simple terms is just an AC with a reverse valve, but way more efficient than the AC since besides moving heat, it uses it's own compressor's waste heat into heating the cabin, battery, etc. So, in pure engineering terms is a no brainer to use a heat pump, even more so in a EV where every Kwh saved is precious. Also, at very low environment temperatures (20F or so), the efficiency becomes at par with a heating element.

Ok, but I assume you will go back to the car and get the dog????
Sure, but I don't have a dog, I just want to press a button and keep the car cool until I come back in one, two three or four hours or maybe I don't come back at all that day. In the latter I can shut off the AC with the Tesla app. In the Mach-E once you left the car "on" using the car's user interface and turning off the the 30 min limit, you can't shut if off with the app; you would have to physically come back to the car and shut it off.

But doesn't our Mach-E's have remote Climate control? For up to 30 minutes?

If all you desire is for the car to be comfortable to return to in 3 or 4 hours, just open an app on your phone and set the remote control thermostat.

You do realize the ability to do so is like Science Fiction to our dad and grandpa. ???

Man we are a jaded culture

At least those of us demanding “dog mode” actually have a dog or two ?.

The fact that I disagree with you does not mean I am a troll. Maybe you misunderstood because you have a limited capacity to analyze information and weigh data based on the facts laid out. That has nothing to do with me. Take it up with your doctor and up your meds.

I’d say it sounds like the car you want is available today! Just stop by your friendly Tesla dealer and pick one up.
I already have one. It says right there in my profile. Also, there is no such a thing as a Tesla dealer.

I believe you may have just invented a perpetual motion machine. Consider that heat is energy. You’re claiming that you have a machine that produces 3 times (300%) of the energy input, as output?
Also, did ford really just add a reversing valve to the existing AC? If so, given the loss in frunk volume, that’s one huge reversing valve. For contrast, I actually have a heat pump for my home, and the reversing valve is about the size of my fist.

Then why are you complaining about the Mustang Mach e?

I’m not sure of the Tesla terminology - “store”? “Showroom”? “Temple of Elmo”?

The heat pump isn't producing energy - it is just moving the already existing heat energy from one place to another. That is how it could put 5kW of heat energy in the cabin while only using 1.5 to 2kW of energy to spin the compressor, run the pumps, etc (those numbers are a guess - the real numbers would be different).

dog mode has other critical functions like locking the doors and preventing the windows from being rolled down

There is also live camera monitoring

If those are there then you have dog mode
