And you can buy a brand new model Y performance for $36K in tesla inventory right now
why are you trying to sell me an ugly Tesla egg?

Do they pay you by the post or by the word for your advertisements?

The Topic of this thread is about the advantages of Tesla vs Ford. OTA updates where put on the table from start.

Now, looking at "Tesla Software 2025.8.3" it's obvious that the two automakers consider updates very differently.

While Teslas owners get useful updates and have now access to battery degradation - among other things, Ford is unable to provide anything relevant for its electric Pony regarding the UI.

I hoped things will change, but now I'm just pissed off.

@FordPR : make no mistake. Chinese EV makers are coming. And they listen to their clients. They take notes of their needs and make changes very quickly. OTA updates on Xpeng cars are made every week. Whatever $Mds you will spent on plants, if you're unable to provide usefull OTA updates, improve UI and provide new features, you're dead. Because this how its works now.

Don't forget to now add the chance of being doxed and someone torching your vehicle to the list of tesla advantages ;).

Every vehicle has it pros and cons, and while updates are nice and are becoming the norm, banging on about the tech is also becoming a way for EVS to gloss over the poor body control & steering. Everyone has different priorities when it comes to vehicles but I prefer they actually get the basics at least competent and then worry about the tech.

I am certainly very critical of the steering and wayward back end of the mach-e so no rose tinted specs here and that is because ford has the talent and ability to do better, but I have driven worse and while there are certainly plenty of good EV coming out of china there is also a whole lot of cheap phone on wheels rubbish.

This brings a point that tesla is still updating original model S vehicles. How many automakers would give a software update to a more than 10 year old vehicle?

A Ford Model T can still run today, so thats what, 120 years? Tell me if that Model S is still driveable in 2130.

And at the current stock rate I would worry Tesla wont exist in 2 years. Elmo could brick every car and walk away in an anger fit.

We had actual Tesla owners on this forum prior to the release of the Mach E. They mentioned beta fixes for beta software more iften than I can count.

This is 2025. Tesla has good software

The fact that ford broke the speedometer animation and the speed is no longer centered is puzzling. That would be a 1 day fix for tesla, but the car's software would never be released like that.

if any EVs are going to be worth using in 2130 they will be tesla due to the large volume of vehicles produced

The rules were change to allow the adaptive headlight systems and matrix headlights. What was not changed were the maximum allowable brightness levels (lumens). US brightness levels will be significantly lower than what you see on EU cars.
They are already blinding. How can they see anything in the EU then??

Here's an example of a scenario that you would not need mapping. Driving down a single lane road that is barely wider than the car. No decisions need to be made other than staying on course and look how well the car predicts the blind curves ahead just like a human

The EU adaptive headlight system accounts for oncoming traffic and pedestrians and adjusts the lighting matrix. It’s not just about curvy roads. Thus you could have your brights on and an oncoming car would never be affected.

An old BMW UK video but you get the idea.

I guess to each his own. I’ve read a lot of posts in this forum about the ā€œbrokenā€ Speedo. I have a ā€˜24 Premium, so haven’t logged as many hours as others here. However, I don’t view the current location of the Speedo as ā€œbrokenā€, but rather a choice Ford made to prioritize the ACC/Blue Cruise feature over having a speedometer dead center.

I’ve been using Blue Cruise and really like monitoring the position of the car center screen, especially while in hands free mode. I can still monitor my speed fine. That said, if Ford moves things back around or gives us a menu option to choose from multiple layouts (ideal), perhaps I’ll feel differently.
