Also comes down to interface and driving preferences. I didn’t like the single screen interface in the middle of Model Y. Much prefer the 2 screen approach of the Mach E.
Can’t speak for driving feeling of Teslas but really enjoyed the Mach E so that was a deciding factor(I had to like it).

Yep, there are also random things like everything is forced through the main screen, no 360 camera, no apple carplay/android auto, etc.

If you want to open the glove box, it's on the main screen. Air vents? main screen too, but quite a few cars seem to like to do that.

I haven't played with/test drove the interface of the Tesla nor the Mach-e myself, but most Tesla owners say you get used to it, but is that because you're forced to and someone just 'lives' with it or do they really like it/felt this was such a great new design feature? Most honest Tesla owners seem to not like how far it's forced on you (minimalistic design).

My brother has a model 3 and loves it but can't get a tax credit anymore on a Tesla plus I think the Mach e looks better in my opinion. Anyone here had a model 3 and went to a Mach e? I'm a little torn just because I don't know anyone who has a Mach e but they seem to be great cars but I know a few people who have a model 3 and love them. Plus my brother said charging is easy with the Model 3 but it seems like the Mach e would be pretty easy to chage with Electricy America.
You’ll be fine with charger availability in California. It’s basically for people that want to do unusual trips like Spokane to Green Bay where Tesla still has a meaningful edge in charging infrastructure, not in densely populated states like California.

Yes, here in CA we have a lot of chargers. I can't even find a model to test drive, the dealers want me to just order one but I have to test drive it before I buy one.

You can order the Mach-E, then test drive it when it arrives. If you like it, then buy it and if not then walk away. Just make sure your dealer agrees ahead of time that your deposit is refundable and they aren't going to add on any extra charges over MSRP (or your agreed upon price).

Charger availability can be an issue in California in rural locations. Tesla just installed 12 Superchargers in Fort Bragg CA. That's an out of the way place that matters to me. A lot of people prefer the Mach-e styling and interior controls. The Tesla's win on battery performance and usually on charger availability. The battery is a big part of an EV, and many people don't even mention it.

There are other cars hitting the market in early 2022. The Ionic and the EV6.

Many dealers had demos. Must have been either a requirement, or something because all the demos got sold around 6 months after they were acquired.

Yes, I talked with one dealership that said they had one for demos but finally sold it. I kind of think it's a mistake not to have demo units just because most people want to test drive before buying.

Pretty expensive to have an unsold $50,000+ car so some yahoo can drive it... I suspect the demos were setup with some plan from Ford as theyall disappeared in a short timeframe.

This Yahoo, and his wife, got 2 days with one and then bought a canceled order.

Dealers are required to keep the demos for something like 120 days and 4000 miles before being allowed to sell them. These may not be the exact numbers, but something like that.

Some dealers still have their FCTP (demo) car. San Tan Ford here in Mesa still has their's. They have vinyl graphics on the car and use it to secure more new orders for clients. Seems to be working for them because they sell a lot of Mach-Es and now have over 800 reservations for the Lightning.

Yes, I talked with a few dealers and they don't understand why some dealers don't have demo cars, they basically said it drives more sales. I think I have a lead on one in Sacramento to test drive.

Painfully slow on L1. About 3 miles of range per hour assuming moderate ambient temps. To be fair.....that is about the same with all plug in EVs though....
Works fine if you have lots of local regen driving. 3-4 miles per hr.

Hehe! I never test drove the MME as owning a '13 Mustang I knew with comments stating it is fast, handles well -- its going to be great. Sure enough, seats are great for me in my CA RT1.

That's great, what's the main difference with your CA RT1 and the premium? Is it mainly the seats are not heated from what I saw.

I have a lot of local driving (including regen of course) and L1 would not work fine for me.
Tomorrow will be 10 months with the car. 25,500 miles so far....
