I know there are a lot of posts regarding tires, I am after the latest opinions and recs. 21 GTPE so I went through the cold temp fiasco with the OEM Pirelli's (zero meaning zero snow traction), cracking, etc. Got 17k miles, put on the continental extreme contact DW06 plus and have 50k on them and are shot. Amazing traction, better ride, maybe quieter, very pleased. Only drawback maybe about a 10% distance penalty. See some talk about a 20% penalty for certain tires, don't want that. I see recs for Michelin pilot sport A/S 4, Pirelli zero A/S plus 3, and maybe a Hankook ion something or other. So wondering if there is any tire that would do as well as these continentals without the distance loss? With the great traction of these I see no need for 2 sets of tires. Handling is not a priority, and I realize you probably have to give up some distance to get the traction and ride. Thanks for any ideas.
