Wife took the California Route 1 Mach E in to the tire place this morning for winter tires and they told us that the tire shoulder is so worn as to be legally "bare". We bought our Mach E in December 2022, so this is less than 2 years. We've rotated once every 10k miles (so twice since purchasing).

Anyone else experiencing quick tire wear on the run flats that come standard when you purchase a Mach E?

I am still on my original set of tires 3 years and 7 months in or 36,084 miles in with plenty of tread left on my 2021 MME First Edition.

2 1/2 here. Main problem is the extreme toe-out. The inside tread wore very quickly. Stealership said it was set properly.

You said nothing about how many miles you put on the car in 2 years. If your answer is 20,000 I'd be surprised. If your answer is 100,000 I'll be even more surprised!

It sounds like you rotated them twice, so maybe near 30,000 miles? If so, then I'll ask if you kept the tires at the proper pressure and how many track days you took it on.

2023 - 1 tire has a slow leak.
are you driving with low air pressure? 40-45 should be where you should be at

46,000 on original Michelins running at 40-42 psi, and figure i’ll need to replace them in about 5,000. Conservative, old coot driver, so they’re not being pushed.

2021 Job 1 First Edition. Yesterday I replaced my worn out OEM Michelin Primacy 125/55R19’s at 37.9k miles. I probably could have gone another few months past 40k miles before replacing but with winter rain/ice/snow coming on, I opted for a greater safety envelope even if they were (barely) still legal.

FYI - My new tires are Pirelli Scorpion Weatheractive 135/55R19. According to an online calculator that factors in the greater load range of the Scorpion’s over the Primacy’s, the recommended tire pressure goes up from 39 psi to 41 psi. My tire installer inflated to 39, but I’ll play around with different pressures to optimize.

My immediate impression from my slightly wider, gripper Perelli’s is traction is notably improved, the ride is smoother (they lowpass filter some of the high frequency jitter in the suspension - some of this may be due to mild underinflation - to soon to say), and there is detectable mild but unobjectionable road noise at mid-frequencies that wasn’t there with the foam-lined Michelin’s - no surprises there.

No idea yet about the impact on range, but to me safety rules over all other factors and I’m pleased with the result so far.

You can look at my other posts. My OEM Michelins wore out at 25K. I contacted them and they gave me a 50% discount to use on a new set. I thought that was fair. I am up to 25K on my latest set and they look good.

I'm at 30 months and 45K miles and am approaching the time to replace the OEM tires.

You contacted Ford or Michelin? My 2021 is at 26k and I'm stalking tire sites for black Friday deals because I'm under the limits of wear.
