About a month ago, pressing the black button on my 2021 MME stopped opening the trunk.
It was still cold at the time and I could always open it with the FOB. That was Inconvenient but not worth messing with it.
Now that it has warmed a little, the button works. No updates except BC were delivered.

Any chance that your fob or PAAK phone were in back pockets of jeans when you first noticed this problem? Bit of a stretch but need to get of the obvious problems. I occasionally have that issue with my 2021 when my phone (I exclusively use PAAK) is in my back pocket.

Since the kick open kick close started to work pretty solidly for me I had forgot about that button. It is hard to find. I use the close button when my hands are free but 100% kick open now when back there. Pretty much first time every time now a days even when it is not started and is sleeping. There is so many ways (4?) to open the hatch it is a bit mind boggling.

Frozen button, paak glitch, update fixed it, I like when things fix themselves. Art now needs to wait until next winter to know if it is fixed. Good it is working for now.

No, just the FOB.

The car can have difficulty with proximity detection when the fob or phone are not in a front pocket or shirt pocket. Less so with the fob than a phone though. I’d check the fob battery first then add it to your list of stuff for the dealer to look at the next time you have the car in.

Well, the FOB was in my pocket and using it to open the trunk worked, so it wasn;t the FOB.
There are other ways that you can open the trunk, so I wasn't concerned.

I posted this just to see if anyone had the same problem.
I have had one update (BC) and as I said in the post, it's working now.

I had another mysterious occurrence with Bluetooth. (Apple iPhone)

I couldn’t use Bluetooth for a lengthy period, so I used the USB port.

My wife’s newer iPhone connected immediately when entering the car.

Suddenly one day when I entered the car and was ready to plug the phone in, Bluetooth started working.

.Now that was probably due to an update, either iPhone or a MME update.

As I said, it was a bit of stretch for possible reasons. I’ve found my PAAK phone often won’t trigger the proximity for a trunk release while a key in the same back will ?

Bluetooth can be flaky. iPhone wireless connection hiccups upon occasion too. Wired always works though.

I haven’t configured the PAAK and given the issues apparent I don’t plan to. Geez I just carry my key and it’s Fob and the trunk, frunk, doors and everything else just works. I have carried keys for all my life to operate my cars. With the Mach E it works whether it is in front pocket, back pocket , jacket pocket , garage shelf etc it just works
