It could just be a very badly worded press release.

It might be that the 2023’s have the required software versions to run it now from the factory, whereas older models will require software updates that are yet to come to activate it.
Looks like you’re right. This Times article today says earlier versions will be getting Bluecruise later in the year ?

If the updates for Blurcruise (Typo left in) come through I wonder if it will force other updates through that we haven't received yet so bringing the UK cars up to the level of the latest OTA updates in the U.S.?

I recently contacted the CRC about this very topic of updates. My last received update was on 12 December 2022. The one before that was received on 8 September 2022. I have a very early (Built 9/12/2020) RWD ER and this was the response I received.

Apparently, I am up to date.

Good afternoon Grahame,

I hope you are well, thank you for taking the time to send us an email.

We here are able to check if your vehicle is up to date for you, we can also run it past our technical team to check. To do this we will require your VIN and just to confirm you are the owner of the vehicle.

I have checked with the product team to see when you can expect updates which they are not able to confirm I am afraid due to the way in which they are released. As the updates are released in batches it is not possible to release them all at the same time as it will overload our servers and it will also depend on the model year. They have explained that the 2021 model will not receive the same updates at the same time as the 2022 model and vice versa. It is something our product team is working on to improve in the future to make all updates streamlined.

However I would also like to thank you for your feedback, we do understand the disappointment faced by Mach E customers when looking at the vehicles in comparison to the US market. Things are in the works to make improvements in the future to ensure they are as similar as possible

Bluecruise is the next stage up from Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control with lane assist that we already have. Both systems require the car's camera system "reading" the road looking for the lane markings. However, how many times have people had their IACC disconnect during their journeys due to the inability to read the lane markings. I know I have, lots of times. Bluecruise is ONLY going to be available on certain motorways and not on rural roads, but even so, unless ALL of the lane markings are crystal clear ( ? ? ) it will keep disconnecting. As I said in a earlier post, I really don't think it is going to be worth £17.99 a month.

Software updates is not something I care too much about but the last time mine went in for the interim service I specifically asked if my software was up to date and was assured that it was at that time, is the attached the software to which everybody refers?

I got mine installed at delivery and it wasn't the cheapest at around 900 pounds in late 2021. To be honest I should have gone for the fixed one as I have never had the need to detach it. You can order on the ford site need the adaptors seperate and it needed some mucking around when they installed it, although at that point I don't think the garage knew how to do it. You can go through the site if you have your Ford account. Https://shop.ford.co.uk/collections/towbars with all the components for lights etc it comes to about £950-1000
