Same for us, also getting space white sr rwd. Hey, at least they have 2 to make!
Brilliant... Looking at the American forums space white is a rare breed as most people think it's a flat white but it's actually a Metallic light grey which I think will suit the modern lines of the MME really well. It was my wife's choice, I was thinking of the infinite blue which I think looks great in sunshine but in this country sunshine is in short supply. It's her car though so her choice!

It's just a shame that it seems the colour is making us wait longer as I see Nick Nick ordered his black SR RWD nearly two weeks after mine but has a much shorter estimate.

2 bottles of wine later and a (semi)sensible discussion with the boss ( plus a few nice comments on here) has brought me to my senses and made me realise that I love this car, I want this car and am prepared to wait for as long as it takes to take delivery of this car. The way Ford has treated us all throughout this whole process is in my opinion nothing short of abysmal. The annoying thing is that they have a car that looks great and has got amazing potential. I just wish it was in my stable and not still in Mexico. I don't want anything else as much as I want this. I'm staying

I'm so surprised because the it is a really lovely colour and definitely isn't a solid white. It was my first choice by a long way.

I understand that some are frustrated by the lack of clarity on the delivery date of the cars.
I am more philosophical.
With the wretched pandemic, conversion of orders, manufacturing and delivery logistics have gone to pot.
Ford managed to manufacture 3000 Mach e’s in 2020 but only succeeded in delivering 3. There are clearly US logistics issues. For European cars this is compounded by the organisation and commercial aspects of a sea crossing to various ports. I have no knowledge of RORO economics but I am sure there are minimum numbers per model per ship.
There is also the production planning to consider.
I always imagined that there would be an ordering window for pre-ordered cars and when they knew the numbers they would be batch manufactured and shipped. If only to generate a marketing ā€˜moment’ in Europe as the vehicles all arrived in a tight window. Much as tesla did with the initial model 3 release and VW with the ID3. Dribbling the cars out does not sound so great.

Personally I am comfortable with a post 21 reg change delivery date, preferring to get the car in the spring when there might be light in all senses of the word.
My opinion is this is a very high end purchase as people are spending £37k for the basic model which has a lot less than the fully loaded Kuga for a lot more money.

Or the RWD version at £47k with specs roughly matching the fully loaded similar Kuga which is a lot cheaper. I can get that ICE kuga at under £30k.

I accepted that.

Then there's the finance. Zero percent on a lot of the fords but the mache is near 5%!

I accepted that reluctantly but feel that is somewhat cheeky to provide a poor deal for one set of customers to another.

My observation is they have a central person that relays bad news etc about deliveries and order progress etc but no one in management in Ford Uk is in control of this, it all appears to be run from the USA and we dont matter than much. In fact we are an after thought. We are so important that if it suits them, they will (even if you preordered a year ago) hold back on your purchase delivery to suit their own schedule!

And batches of 30 excuse, seriously?

The way I have seen people who preordered in good faith months or a year ago treated so badly... that it a serious red flag and worrying about how much they care about their customers.

It doesn't take much to communicate to your customers but says a lot when you don't. It implies that you don't care that much or perhaps would rather work somewhere else from what I know about how businesses work.

Then i'm seeing that orders are now going into production out of preorder sequence! By a mile.

That makes me wonder if in 3months I will be still waiting like others have while seeing people who ordered after me getting theirs sooner.

Are people seeing good customer service in all of this?

I agree, but you do pay more for electric cars and their running costs are less long term, so despite it looking far more expensive than a kuga, it isn't. Also many of us buy electric for the environmental aspect, I'm willing to pay a bit more to protect the planet. Finally from an environmental angle, batch production is better and has less waste so I do get it... but it is frustrating. I want the car ASAP but I also want a car that is made in an environmentally conscious way, it's a balance unfortunately.

also... who would want the depreciation and residual value on ICE cars now? My Discovery has depreciated £5k more than I anticipated.

Unfortunately depreciation will hit EVs just as hard if not harder as fresh new EVs are coming out all the time and manufacturing costs will lower as time goes on, newer fresher cheaper EVs will mean that early adopters will be hit with higher depreciation

I'm torn between Star White and Black - opted for Black

^This

we are looking at expanding our second car and originally wanted a Disco/Disco Sport/Defender - but in 5 years when the ban hits I would hate to think how much they would be worth

So for the price of a ICE BMW X3 I'm getting an all Electric Mustang that carries the kids and will be future proofed for the next 10 years

There's a lot of love out there for the Black & White colour variations :)

Am I the only one that ordered a Red One? ?

There's a reason most of the press shots are in red - it looks great!

I'm just boring

I'm sure that's not true! :)

Over the last few years I've gone through an endless rotating cycle of Black, Pearl White, and then Dark Metallic Grey colours. As this is my mid-life crisis purchase I thought I'd break the cycle LOL

Look at it this way, you will be unique. I didn't think many would go for the black but it seems every man and his dog is going for that colour

Just pray the police in your area don’t play snooker - you’ll be worth 7 points ?

*For those that don’t get that reference some police in ye olde days would pull over cars based on vehicle colour as they were playing a virtual game of snooker.
