Perhaps there's a fixed fee of £1000s to offload cars at portsmouth or whereever the ship lands and as there's only 20 to drop of or whatever they want to use the ship to load more french ones or whatever and thus save on shipping, I dunno! Spencer might know about the logistics?

If you see it as an upside, this means you will be driving a very unique and hardly seen car when you get it (for upto a year or so)!

I feel your pain - another knock-back in a long history of delays. Being in the same situation as you as having a very early pre-order it does make it feel like the wait is never ending.

Let's try and stay positive, it's only likely to represent a delay of 3 or 4 weeks where our cars will likely ship at the end of January (as long as they schedule the new orders into the production runs quickly)

Vehicles will still likely arrive in UK late Feb/early March, which has always been one of the key milestone dates. What hurts is that we know that ours have been built for some time, and we are excited to get our hands on them asap.

For comparison - look at our US friends, very small numbers of their cars have actually shipped, and only three have been delivered.

Hurrah mine is also in production. Delivery time 14-16 weeks. Not sure if that’s from order or now or when I confirmed.

Is the common denominator here SR vehicles going into production shortly?

I understand that some are frustrated by the lack of clarity on the delivery date of the cars.
I am more philosophical.
With the wretched pandemic, conversion of orders, manufacturing and delivery logistics have gone to pot.
Ford managed to manufacture 3000 Mach e’s in 2020 but only succeeded in delivering 3. There are clearly US logistics issues. For European cars this is compounded by the organisation and commercial aspects of a sea crossing to various ports. I have no knowledge of RORO economics but I am sure there are minimum numbers per model per ship.
There is also the production planning to consider.
I always imagined that there would be an ordering window for pre-ordered cars and when they knew the numbers they would be batch manufactured and shipped. If only to generate a marketing ‘moment’ in Europe as the vehicles all arrived in a tight window. Much as tesla did with the initial model 3 release and VW with the ID3. Dribbling the cars out does not sound so great.

Personally I am comfortable with a post 21 reg change delivery date, preferring to get the car in the spring when there might be light in all senses of the word.

Some of the customers in the French thread are saying they are changing to in production.

Grahame, i think you're the most reasonable, optomistic and patient person on the UK part of this site. So to annoy you the customer like this takes some serious lack of respect etc from Ford.
Completely agree !!

Unfortunately my space white SR RWD is still not in production, keep checking it daily. Was tempted to place a second order for an infinite blue one when the estimate was lower a week after I placed the first order for the space white one but my daughters were not keen on the infinite blue and wanted the space white.

We are not in a great rush 6 months to June seems a long wait, granted a lot shorter than some of the folks on here who have been waiting a year!

I've just heard from a lease company who are quoting April deliver for orders placed in Jan... So if I can get a confirmation on that I may cancel my dealer order.

My business partner wants one too now!
