While the vehicles are in storage (and during shipping) they are put in a hibernation state that protects the batteries from draining and being under any load. So they should be just fine by the time they reach us.

I had another good scan through the alternatives last night I won't lie, but still felt the Mach-E was the one for me. At least that makes 3 of us who will stick it out.

it depends on what you want..... there's plenty of 'practical' alternatives. Few with decent range though and most have bland looks. Can you see batman driving any of the others? no, cos they aint cool.

Yeah - I wouldn't say I'm fussy, but I know what I like LOL

It's four factors for me...

1) Exterior design - and there are lots that fit the bill here from many manufacturers
2) Interior design - and this is where most fall very very flat. Nasty button heavy plastics
3) Price - I'm not hard up, but I'm not made of money either. Some EV's are crazy expensive.
4) Range - sometimes I get called out for work at odd times and have to do a few miles. So having a car that can meet my needs when I may not have had a chance to charge it is important.

In a perfect world I'd like the body of a Mach-E, with the advanced software of a new 2022 Model S, the HUD of an ID.4, the new solid state Toyota battery pack, and the interior design of a Lucid Air. All for about £35k ?

It’s a great car, I’d always anticipated a long wait (shouldn’t be the 3-year timeline early UK Tesla model 3 owners experienced), and I’m not driving much now anyway due to lockdown. Hopefully it’ll arrive in time for some spring road trips!

I agree the competition isn’t that tempting. The ID 4 really doesn’t appeal for some reason - looks very dull! I’d have to wait a while anyway for the longer range edition that could match the Mach E RWD ER.

I emailed Rebecca to check about latest delays to May, why no communication from Ford around it and what compensation they were going to offer as headphones not really cutting it anymore....... this response back. Bit of a politicians answer but at least it’s a response. And a boat has been mentioned!

With regards to delays we have been provided with this statement ‘At Ford Motor Company we are committed to delivering the highest quality products to our customers. To this end, we are ensuring that all Mustang Mach-E delivered to customers meet our exacting standards. This may lead to some minor delays in delivery, but we‘re confident that this is what our customers would expect from us’

It is our understanding that the quality controls have led to vehicles being held in Mexico. The next ship is due to leave on 17th February. We won’t get a list of what vehicles have shipped until they are on the boat.

I would suggest you continue to speak to your dealer as they will be able to give you updates on the progress of your vehicle.
