I'm sorry guys, but I just don't see what the great issue is with the keys. Unless you plan to put them in a glass jar at a party or throw them on a table in the pub to show everyone you have a Mustang what difference does it make. I have had my car since Wednesday and the only time my key has been out of my pocket is when I changed my trousers, no it wasn't because of the acceleration. You don't need to use the key at all. It unlocks when you get near, there is a lock button on the door and there is a button to open the lift hatch on the car. Yes, I agree, it is piss poor of Ford to supply this type of key for such a quality car but if you carry on like this it will take over the joy of actually getting the car. The additional blades you get with the car are for one use only as far as I can tell and that is to turn the switch to deactivate the passengers airbag.

So popped over today to see my new car, she has arrived and looks great, bit miffed that you get two basic Ford keys then you get the metal backup insert key of the usual mustang fob but no mustang key, this will be followed up with complaints after I have taken delivery, which will be early next week.

This was all a bit of a surprise as I was told a few weeks ago that the original car was being withdrawn and I had to wait for a replacement, luckily a cancelled order was available, and I will be receiving this car earlier than the original one.:)
More importantly, did you take any photos?

Glad you confirmed what I was thinking about how little we will need our keys. On my current car, my key lives in my handbag and I can't remember the last time I touched it, possibly before lockdown began.
Yes, it is disappointing and shows lots of cut corners, and a lack of valuing UK customers, but how lovely that some cars are making their ways to their new homes. I intend on leaving the blade in the glove compartment in case I ever need it.
Happy driving Grahame

I am yet to be convinced that I should accept anything less that what I have paid a lot of money for just because Ford can't be bothered to fullfill what they agreed to supply or to be specific 'what they show in their manual".

Well we are paying 40k plus for the car I would expect at that cost a complete package not a key blade, if you let things like this slide it will be something else next, how far are we meant to compromise. BMW or Audi wouldn’t allow this and if Ford want to play ball with the big boys, which they are doing at this price point then they have to be willing to rectify these problems, and give us the complete package, that Ford key is pretty crappy, suits a fiesta or focus but not a Mach E.

I agree. Don't bother joining the WhatsApp group as it's 80% keys at the moment...

That is sort of where I'm at. They are trying it on again.

“ Yes, I agree, it is piss poor of Ford to supply this type of key for such a quality ” and that’s the point Grahame. My car has gone further and further back with very little communication and this is the last straw!

I’m sure you are happy and I’m so pleased for you but this is crap. Imagine Jaguar giving such a s#*te key with an iPace and getting away with it?

It’s only the UK again that get the crap. Every other Country is fine with their keys. Sums up Ford UK.

They rely on people just ‘being contented’ with their cars. That’s what we do…. no longer for a £50K car!

The key issue is the icing on the cake really. Yes, it’s superficial and shouldn’t matter, but it’s yet another slap in the face in the endless saga we’ve faced... I thought the Fordwitch PR stunt was the last of it, but the key I guess is being made a bigger deal because it’s symbolic of Ford’s U.K. efforts... nothing more than an after thought. With the amount of U.K. advetorials I’ve seen them putting out in the likes of Vouge and The Drive, coupled with all the paid promotions on Twitter and Facebook, and their PR stunts, it’s seems as though they’re just chasing the sales at this point... everything else is an afterthought. The problem is they know, as do we, that they can get away with it as we’re not going anywhere... those who were going to walk away have already done so. Yes, it’s just a key, but it’s become symbolic of something much bigger... so ?? you ford. I’m waiting 16 months to pay you £60k for Mustang... the least you can do at this point is give me a goddamn Mustang key you cheap bastards!! Pause your Facebook spend for one week and you’ll have enough keys for all of us.

Almost 600 messages since I last checked this morning... It’s a bit too much for me, I might have to bow out of the group. I don’t have the time to read that many messages every day, never mind following the format of which mobile number said what to which.
