lucky you folks getting updates. i am still on 1.6

it doesn't bother me. i still love the MachE but i have to admit, Tesla owns the software game.
Same here. Stuck at 1.6. Not sure why. Any ideas ?

It's because they fluffed up 1.7.1 and had to stop the rollout to stop them from messing up any more cars. (at least that's what I was told) There's apparently a fix coming in the next few weeks that should sort that, then the flow of OTA's should begin again.

I'm lucky in that I had manual intervention to fix mine that was stuck in 1.6 - 1.7.1 limbo, and that's how I then was able to get 2.1 OTA.

It's always worth remembering that these OTA's are mostly aimed at early production vehicles to bring them up to date with the software that's installed on newer cars at the factory. So if you've got fairly recently delivered car you may already be ahead on some of the features regardless of OTA numbers.

that's reassuring to hear. I don't mind waiting for a few weeks, otherwise I just might take a day off and do the manual intervention you described.

any idea why Ford is so bad at this ... I don't envy a Tesla for anything else but this!

+1 for the 2.3 OTA - except mine failed to install :(

Didn't get any kind of notification anywhere, only reason I checked was because I saw some of you say you'd got the update.

Had a look in PTS and there's a big fat install log ....
very interesting...

What remedy do they provide with the troubleshoot/recommendations icon, anything useful?

I wish they'd let us download them from the Ford website like they used to for earlier SYNC versions.

Unfortunately for SYNC4A you have to use a dealership diagnostic interface, along with an eye wateringly expensive subscription to Ford's Diagnostic & Repair System (FDRS), and a 12v power supply.

It's about £400 minimum worth of hardware with a £15 per hour (or £3,500 per year) software subscription.

... or you could just ask your dealership nicely if they'll do it for you :)

If you click on that icon - which looks teasingly helpful - it just says "OTA Retry is Pending" :(

So no - not very useful at all. LOL

very helpful indeed :-( , I'm always wondering if it fails due to 12v battery strength and not having the car plugged into AC...things like that...

I've managed lots of updates ok in the past with the car never being plugged in, but my 12V battery has been a bit iffy of late, and I did wonder if that's why my 2.3 failed.

I hope it will retry - who knows :)

My indicator pings do not match the blinking light suddenly. The noise is a coming out at a random beat and speed. Anyone else had this?

It's because the ticking is coming from a sound generator through the sound system and not an actual relay. It happens every now and then. I'll admit it's weird, but nowt to worry about. Next time you use the car it will be fine again.

Anyone in UK changed tires and wheels for better ride comfort? I am guessing not … all the posts on this are from US folks.

I'm thinking that maybe my car has had an efficiency change with the latest updates. 6°C, dark and intermittently wet and managed this on my commute to work this morning. We'll impressed. This was my summer consumption figure. RWD ER by the way.

Not so much to deal with the bounce, but seriously contemplating switching to Michelin Pilot Sport 4s for better handling, had these on my previous Focus ST and they are great. Not really fussed about minimal range impact so could fit a 245 on these rims I think. Tires + rims would be pretty expensive if you wanted to go wider, that is tempting though.
