wow, this is the reply i got just now from my Evans Halshaw dealer:

'When ford issue a recall or field service action (fsa) they update their central database with all affected vehicles, having checked their database your vehicle has no recalls or fsa's outstanding.'

this is turning into a shit sandwich. i have escalated to Ford Mach E team. i will keep you folks briefed.

edit: i spoke to the Mach E team and they too say that as per their records, there is no recall outstanding on my car.

my Evans Halshaw did carry out 22S41 activity as per my job sheet but they have recorded it as Main HV Contactor Welding. they have not said anything about any software update.

the Mach E team say EH have worded it wrongly.

I didn't know that! In any case another EH dealer has agreed to look at my car's software wrt 22S41.
I've double checked your service record - what they did first time round was partially complete the software updates (but did not do all the required works) They then cleared down the flag for the recall works from your vehicle.

This means if any other dealer looks at your vehicle record they will see no active flags as the works have been marked as complete. Unless they look at the individual module versions they will not see that you haven't had your BECM Module (Battery Energy Control Module) brought up to date as required.

If you're taking it to another branch draw their attention to the BECM version currently being
version NJ98-14C197-BB whereas if the recall has been properly completed it should be version NJ98-14C197-BD

will do, @Wonky_Donkey . if my dealer had said they have done the software and 'Main HV Contractor Welding was basically software stuff, if would have saved me a lot of aggro and time.

This is really concerning, Tone kindly checked mine too and my dealer had done the same. So essentially they are not fully completing the work for the recall but are then resetting the recall flag so everyone thinks it's been done!

This is probably due to what I said in an earlier post. Ford will only pay dealers a certain hourly rate to do the updates required. According to my dealer most of the updates take longer than Ford allow so they are more than likely just doing what they are going to get paid for and flagging as done if it goes over the time. This is where a GOOD relationship with your dealer comes in handy.

Did you put it all in there once you were at you’re destination? Or was it loaded like that for the drive? I would love to load up the car for camping, knowing you’re get there with ice cold beers in the front.

My MME is booked into Evans Halshaw Altrincham for windscreen replacement, new discs and software update. It is not part of the recall but some of the windscreen elements were not working and discs scratched from new. EH have been more reasonable than TrustFord Wilmslow we're. The Power Up sw is locked between 1 6 and 1.7. So hopefully they will sort as well as the Latest contactor sw upgrade.
I'm concerned that they will only do the contactor sw update as they tend to shy away from sw updates without a recall in place as I don't think they get paid by Ford
Good luck! They took mine in and then ordered the windscreen making me wait weeks. Awful

They have had the windscreen on order for a few months now so unless they break it when fitting it hopefully it should work out ok.

I loaded it up before I left home. It was great to pull up at the campsite and have a couple of nice cold ciders before we attempted to erect the tent. Only problem was the temptation to have another (or 2) during.

They told me they couldn't order mine before taking the car in! Even though my Ford contact rang them and told them to. They lied to me!

That is another indication of the poor level of dealer experience. Dealers were told right back when the windscreen recall was issued that the recall was VIN specific and that when they got notification of whether their customers required a removal/refit or a complete replace they were to order a new windscreen and have it delivered BEFORE calling in that vehicle for the work to be done. There wasn't a "do not drive" order, any details they needed could be taken from the car by a quick look, so in my opinion what they told you was wrong. These bad dealers obviously aren't looking at the longer term. How many members on here who have bought the MME as their first Ford would go to their dealer for another on. Not many, if any at all, I bet.

Well, that's the weekend over and I am glad to report that the "ice in the frunk" was a success. I put 6 x 2kg bags in at 1400 Friday and it had melted by the time I looked at about 0900 the following day although my cans were still cold. Put another 5 x 2kg bags in at about 1300 and that was good again until Sunday morning. I imagine it melted a bit quicker as my car is black (absorbs heat more) and although wasn't as sunny as the previous week the air temperature was still quite warm. Still good though. Had some interesting comments at the camp site, certainly got people's attention.
