Given the way the general sentiment appears to be going right now I doubt this will be popular, but here goes my perspective:

I’d cancel the Mustang and order a Kia EV6 if I could stand the look of the thing, it had 60+ miles more range, it was guaranteed to be delivered this year, I could afford the GT and if I could stomach going back into my local Kia dealer.... so, that’s a no to the EV6 from me.
I think quite a few of the reasons for cancelling given in an earlier post weren’t anything particularly new as the big ticket items were highlighted in the first reviews months ago like the charging profile.
I hope when I collect mine (if I don’t cancel in a moment of madness over the grant) that I don’t get some of the finishing issues a small number of others have seen but that’s a small number of the overall number of cars shipped. I acknowledge that the customer experience has been worse than aweful and it seems some people have proactive dealers which helps. My dealer is not in that camp unfortunately but I’m still going to be insanely excited when I pick up my Mach E, hopefully in May.
I think you're not alone here, it's down to personal taste and whether you want to drive a car with a mustang badge or a kia one too.

Me personally I'm not bothered by a badge. If a car looks nice (inside and out) then I'll go for it. Not keen on any of the alternatives at the moment. If I do jump ship then I will stick with my Kuga for a few more years. If the MME had Skoda badge on it I would still prefer it.

Email update from my dealer...

"Hi,

We had an update yesterday from Ford by the looks of it which states they are processing the orders for all customers to see if they can claim the bonus money still. It says that any customers’ applications submitted to Ford Credit that may change will be contacted by them directly. I would also assume it would be Ford that contact you if the order does change as we have not had any involvement in that part of the process."

So....still don't have a clue whats going to happen.

I spoke to my dealer today who denies they should have done anything with my order (as in register for PICG) until the car is released from Antwerp and shows on their system properly.
He stated that Ford were lobbying the government for the grant for existing orders but no further info.
If I wanted to cancel my order then that would be no issue as apparently there are queues round the block for these cars.... or words to that affect. 46.5k GBP is a heap of money for a car and tips it over the edge for me. I was ok with 500GBP a month with a sizable deposit. 570GBP opens a lot of prestige car doors that have better calculated residuals and therefore look like a better bet, even if not electric.
Will wait and see how the grant pans out.

It would seem that a lot of dealers have suddenly developed coka cola bottle shoulders and are refusing to take ANY responsibility for anything regarding this car. Shameful. Do they not realise that they are only alienating their customers even more instead of trying to help.

if there's queues around the block then that stock on the Ford site wouldn't be listed!

My questionnaire / survey on the online ordering process pretty much stated this ping pong between the dealers and "ford" was a terrible experience and not one that should be the future or I would like to repeat.

I guess once people who have multiples ordered cancel at least one there could be quite a few.

So the race for me was vaccine or mach e first. Just had my invite for my vaccine. So the next few months will be exciting, vaccine, car (hopefully), 2nd vaccine.

My first order which I cancelled in Jan is on there, a RWD SR space white which was originally June delivery

And I will be adding another exactly the same to it as long as I like the red.
@Coolcatshaft what colour are you getting now?
