Dave I think we're at the point where some people need to let some steam off. Please don't take anything personally, it never is.

Hope you stay and hope we meet one day! Perhaps at the dealership when we're picking up the cars.

Ok in some car-related news mine has now seemly changed to shipped.

Had an email and also checking on the website status it shows as

"AtPort","vmacs2CharCode":"92","vmacs3CharCode":"721","vmacsStatusDesc":"COMPOUND OUT"

So as someone (I think @portlandg) pointed out not only are they wasting money having cars just sitting at the port in Holland if they are shipping more and more vehicles over you would have thought they would want to clear the backlog.

I might be wrong but would hope that means that if my car is on a boat on the way over then the cars that have been there for a good few weeks now will surely be on the move to the UK soon.

I think that's very logical. You car and other new builds will help move things forward.

FordUK were advertising the Mustang on LinkedIn, so....

They have been advertising it on Facebook and Twitter for a long time now. Almost every post I put a comment on it. I keep getting replies to contact my dealer for updates etc. These people just don't get it do they. If FordUK aren't giving their dealers any information or updates then how the hell are they supposed to tell us. Head up their own rear orifice springs to mind.

Looks like my horror show will be starting soon!

Seems to me that they can't think for themselves. They have a crib sheet with answers on it to reply to all questions. Problem is that there is only 1 response on the crib sheet. CONTACT YOUR DEALER FOR INFORMATION. They just don't get it do they.

Hi all

i understand everyones frustrations - I have been waiting since September and many of you a lot longer. But like wonkey I have taken a step back but maybe come to a different conclusion

I have a 40 year plus history of driving fords and have rarely had a problem. (yes I know the mustang is software in the shape of a car which ford have little experience of like all the major manufacturers ). But at least this is an ev from the ground up unlike many of the big car manufacturers offerings

Positives

I have never got excited about buying a car in the past - my last car 2013 kuga I walked into the showroom with my golf clubs and asked for a car to fit them!

Getting an ev has finally nudged me to get solar panels which I had always put off

But I am excited re a car for the first time ever, it makes me feel good to buy a car that runs on sunshine rather than diesel. The car looks good, better than any other ev in my opinion.

I have read the manual through at least 3 times. Not sure I have looked at my kuga's manual more than 5 times in the 8 years I have had it. That shows my level of excitement re this purchase

I have enjoyed the experience on here and the anticipation we have all had. My dealer has been as helpful as he can be especially as they are making little out of the sale.

My Kuga has now gone to my daughter, and I have been driving around in my mates 30 yr old volvo for the last 4 weeks - so far the drivers wing mirror and the exhaust have fallen off. So the mustang is going to be a huge upgrade.

Yes I really want it before my road trip to Scotland on the 17th June but it will eventually come and I will be grateful

Negatives

The wait - the closer it gets to arriving the worse it has got

The ford UK experience - I don't need to say anymore

The biggest factor is if I cancelled now what would I do. All cars are going to be delayed due to the semiconductor shortage. The only cars that wouldn't seem like a letdown would be the model x and taycan estate thing, both of which are twice the mustang price and out of my reach so I will be sticking till the end and feel very happy when it does arrive

And you contact your dealer and they say contact Ford as that's who you ordered with...... if this is the future it will not work. I'm fine with ordering online and paying full price, no negotiation but once you click the buy it now button it needs to be clear who owns the sale and at what point any transitions are.

Reading between the lines, the transition seems to be when the cars are UK Customs cleared, then the dealers will "own" them and I assume be more proactive on the actual sale.

Well said and my thoughts completely. And by the way, it's nice to know that I am not the only one who has read the manual cover to cover more than once. ? We could be mirror images, 40 years or so driving Fords and our last car being a Kuga. Spooky

Just because we ordered through Ford, if you read the contract it is with the dealer and not Ford. Also when you put the deposit down it went into the dealers bank and not Ford's. Just check your bank or credit card statement and show them that if you have any issues. Their reluctance is due to the fact that they aren't making the money on the MME like the other cars they sell. They have had one slight respite though. They were suppose to take ownership of the cars when they were loaded onto a ship in Veracruz. Because of all the cancellations I believe that has now changed and they will not have to pay for them until they reach Dagenham and are despatched.

Hi, matey.

How do you ‘look online’ to find this info out of compound in / compound out?

Thanks in advance
