What a Day it's been- at long last my quick review for you of our road test of a RWD ER MME.

Weather was overcast and bright and quite warm at Plymouth when we arrived. Never been to the dealer- or Plymouth before so a big adventure!

Nice place (not Plymouth...) the staff were attentive helpful and professional. Simon the Mach E guru showed us all around the car then handed us over to Matt, the Mach E sales manager. After doing the paperwork and a quick question and answer session, he took us outside to our test car, a Black RWD ER (I parked next to a rapid red model as seen in the photos below in the blue badge bay which was handy as I'm a holder ? ) You can see the difference in size between my C-HR and the Mach E. The Mach is substantially bigger (good) but a similar overall height.
Anyway I was handed the keys and waved goodbye.

So What was good and bad? This is very much my opinion and will be different to others I'm sure...

>Propulsion noise- why? Just why? Turned it off at the 1st opportunity. EV's are supposed to be quiet and that's the magic.

>build quality was excellent. No creaks or groans, panel gaps and fit and and finish were exemplary. Mind you Ford have been mass producing cars since 1908 so I guess they know how to do it!

Now I know there's one question you all have- Mr.T, wots it go like Guv? Is it a Mustang?

Now bear in mind many years ago I owned a specialist garage business for a while. Myself and my more able partner worked on BMW's, Jags, Astons, Porsches and the occasional Lambo and Jensen.

I can report that this Mach E would have blown all of these cars doors off (they were all 70/80's cars)

I accidentally on purpose found myself on the Devon Highway (A38) and following slow traffic on the LH lane I waited for a gap,
Got the launch code,
And lit the Blue touch paper,

Yes- it;'s a Mustang- no question at all, none whatsoever! I know that because my speed controller (aka the wife) was screaming at me to slow down as I passed through...more than 70 let's say...

Sorry for such a long rambling report, but we've decided to see it through and continue with the order. Especially as the Salesman improved the derisory on-line offer for my C-HR once he saw it by £4k (matches all the other offers I've had) and He can arrange to do the handover at their branch in Truro which is so much easier for us to get to.

After all this I am delighted to read that it looks like the 1st UK shipments are on the way, hope you get them soon then It'll be my turn to wait.

I found pretty much the same as you, with my test drive last Saturday ...... although sadly only had the SR RWD so no panoramic roof and B&O system!

I especially agree with your comments on the (friction) brakes and ride, handling etc. All very good! I drive a PHEV at present so am used to OPD to some degree, and I'm sure you will get used to it.

I'm now Vista "compound out" which our dealer says implies it is pending delivery.

but eta put back from 22nd May to 12th June. This is now just f-ing ridiculous and a shoddy shite way to treat paying customers. It's not a £15k Fiesta!

There's a definite plan of returning to office work from July which will leave me up shit creek.

There's no way I would have purchased this car had I known that it would spend months in limbo like this with zero customer care from Ford UK (excluding the dealer).

My pti still hasn't changed and I'm beginning to think it's like the F12 doesn't give us as much info as other people get, PTI also doesn't show for us correctly on that web screen.

If, as I hope, that there is MOVEMENT of some of our cars then as I said in an earlier post I would expect the following vista updates and after my update on 7th May. However, the way Ford's system has been working up to now some of these might be missing.
Mine went from compound in, 21/4 location ANT CUST, delay reason CT. Next was:
compound in, 7/5 location ANTWERP, NO delay reason. I would expect the logical progression to be this.
Compound out ANTWERP date ?????? - loaded onto barge?
Compound in FLUSHING VHC date ????? - arrival at Vlissingen
Compound out FLUSHING VHC date ???? - depart Vlissingen on WILHELMINE/ADELINE?
Compound in DAGTOPS date ????? hurray, on UK soil
Compound out DAGTOPS date ???? even better, on way to dealer.
That's what I expect to see. What we actually see is a different matter

I still can't believe that dealers aren't sharing information. Ask him to send you this. If my dealer can do it I don't see why yours can't

I think there's a bigger problem for me now.

I want to know why Ford need an extra 3 weeks, I shouldn't have to be asking Ford this.

They've already had a week more from the 15 may eta given to me back in Feb.

This is while I see more than a week ago a smug video uploaded to youtube etc showing cars uploaded into Norway.

My customers waiting for paid for products don't get unexplained delays while we post proud videos of other customers appearing to be given preferential treatment ike this.

I quite agree. If I treated my customers like Ford have treated us I would be bankrupt within weeks. But, here's the ridiculous thing, we are still here, anticipating the day that we will driving our cars and waiting it out. One of life's mysteries.
I feel your pain with the eta dates. I have had so many, 13/3, 17/4, 8/5, 15/5, 22/5, 29/5, 22/5, 29/5, 5/6, 12/6 all without any explanation just like everyone else.
