As I said, Ford debuted that key design in 2007 on the Mk4 Mondeo.

The Mach E I test drove had those keys too. I was under the impression we'd get maybe one Mustang key and one old Ford key to make up for the lack of PAAK in the UK.

You're playing a blinder here Ford with all these little nice touches. kuga keys, forgetting to supply the one essential accessory required for an electric car - the f-ng charger cable! Making people wait months after ordering with no explanation.

And a delivery schedule which appears to put have put Norway as top priority after your home market who get free charging for their inconvenience.

In fact, the key fob that @Wonky_Donkey has said that the MME has is not only the same as my Kuga, it is EXACTLY the same as my wife's Fiesta's key

So the Kuga and fiesta don't have a key blade either?

Thanks Grahame.

In that case it really doesn't make sense why Tone has the extra key blade sent...

Haven't seen any complaints about keys on the Dutch thread so I wonder if this is a Ford UK thing!

Anyway, as there are NO key holes on the car you only need a blade if you need to deactivate the passenger airbag. The picture is from the MME handbook. I have the same in my Kuga handbook but HAVEN'T got the switch in the car. We will see tomorrow.

Yep, @makooy car had the US style key as seen above
Once again it seem that Ford have deemed us mere mortals in the UK not important enough to have a decent key fob for a £50000 ish car. Not too bothered though. It will, like my Kuga's key, be spending most of it's life in my pocket. It's the car I will proud to show off not the key. I don't know anyone who looks at a good looking car and says "let's have a look at the key". As long as it locks/unlocks and starts the car, global opens and closes the windows and opens the tailgate you really don't need it for anything else.

KEY UPDATE:

So at last I have the key photos....

This is what has been supplied with my Mach-E: (2 keys and 2 blank key blades that don't fit into the keys)

DSC_0243.jpeg

My dealer thinks I should have 2 of these (that the supplied blank key blades WILL fit into)

He's requested clarification from Ford UK

Which key type do you all prefer?
Thanks for sharing these.

It doesn't look as nice, but I strongly prefer the much smaller, all black key fob.

That small key fob is what I used for my 2014 Fiesta. As @portlandg already pointed out, there is a metal key blade inside of it.

The lower photo is similar to the one fob we received here in North America except ours doesn't have the remote start button. I think the Mustang key you've posted is for the ICE version, not the Mach-E.

My question on the keys, are they still going to go to sleep when not moving to help prevent cloning? If they are reusing old keys I am unsure if we will have this feature.
