Hi All,

Long-time lurker, first time poster!

Ordered a SR RWD through Lex (company car) in early April. After some back & forth regarding carbonised grey being discontinued on that line, I have gone with with the Dark Matter Grey ‘alternative’. I’ve been told an ETA stock date of early December (2021!) with a planned build date of 25th August.

Using the wheresmymme tracker the vehicle has gone from ‘Segmentation’ to ‘Resegmentation’ on 2nd September.

Does anyone know what that actually means?! Has it just gone into more parts?! ?

…Reading the posts on here there doesn’t seem to be a huge amount of logic with the declared/tracked build stages & timescales but I live in hope..!

Something spooky happened with Lexie (my MME) earlier today! I was just about to drive out of the parking space when a guy came up to me and said "I love the styling, most cars today are so angular but these curves are gorgeous, that's a really nice bit of car that is." Lexie said "cheers mate!" How did she do that?!?! ???

An opinion please-

I saw a local detailer this afternoon to get some prices. Nice guy, excellent workshop, lots of cars outside waiting for attention and staff- so not a one man band.

Anyway, for a full ceramic coating and detailing with all the bells and whistles he quoted me £700 for a four year guaranteed job. With annual freshen ups if needed.

Is this good or a wind up?

Noticed a bodywork fault with my car over the weekend. The tailgate has been fitted on the skew- Didn't notice it at first, but now it can't be unseen!

I've sent the photos to the dealer and they are happy to sort it. We just need to agree a date as my diary is off the wall this month! I'll keep you all informed...

That sounds about the going rate for a good job that's going to last. Did he tell what ceramic coating he will be using? I presume this will include machine polishing and all the necessary preparation work. He should also be keeping the car overnight in the unit to ensure the ceramic coating cures. Did the price include interior detailing as well? He should also tell you about the aftercare required. You've spent ££££££'s on a car and if you want to keep it a long time you can't afford a cheapo bodge job. You're paying for their expertise and the insurance if it goes horribly wrong with the ceramic coating which it can do if you apply it yourself without the correct preparation. I’ve noticed that my journeys are on the Ford app. Interesting to see what comments my car is giving me! I would like to see my kWh being g used too.
I seem to be getting 3.5 on my commute and 10 on my pottering from home to supermarket kind of stuff.

Thanks for that- he needs to have the car for 3 days so I think this'll be thorough. I didn't ask him what products he uses, that may be the next question- which are the best ones.The quote is to do the whole vehicle externally inc wheels and glass roof. We didn't talk about the interior.He did mention an annual frshen up will be needed.

I have same as above however in Advanced Status it showing as Shipped. Plus Ford confirm it has left mexico too.

This weblink check details on Grimaldi corp to check when next consignment leaving and as per below next one is leaving on 17/09 however one left on 28/08 too.

So will suggest to check with Ford as they will have more accurate detail.

Don't think they do that do they? I just manually dip mine when needed, or better yet use the 360deg cameras.

I had a great tip from someone here (sorry not to give credit but I forgot who it was) but I set the seat memory 3 with my standard seating position but the mirrors tilted downwards. So any time I am parking I can press 3 and get auto dipped mirrors.

Would be useful if they did. Possibly a software update? Even my 2012 Skoda Octavia did this, especially next to kerbs to give the extra comfort in not trashing the alloys.
