Hiya

I don’t think anyone has implied that Grande Torino has been already been to Antwerp and got back to USA in double quick time.

We found last year that the ships were notorious for stopping off at almost every east coast US port and slowly making their way north before finally making the final transatlantic leg of the journey. Quite often there appears to be absolutely no logic in shipping itineraries, but I can tell you one thing - none of the 2021 shipments went on anything like a direct route to Antwerp - and they never seem to be in a hurry which makes it all the more frustrating!

In addition to the above Ford has always traditionally used Grimaldi as their shipping company for Mach-E which Grande Torino belongs to. Dugong Ace belongs to Mitsui OSK Lines.

If our cars were on Dugong Ace which docked in Antwerp on 16th March we would have seen our car status update to “COMPOUND IN - ANT”, and unfortunately this hasn’t happened either.

I’m not trying to discredit anyone or any assumptions, but I’ve been at this Mustang tracking game for year now and my gut is telling me Torino is the one…. But I’m first to admit I’m not always 100% right.

Lets see what new info comes up in the next few days, but I’ll try and get the manifest number so we can check individual VIN numbers onboard.

Any luck on finding the ship manifest for the Torino? I've looked everywhere and found a couple that look promising (both manifests from General Motors, which i believe is Ford?) however i cannot actually see the full manifest for either, numbers are:

Not sure if you have any way of pulling the full manifest to check against VIN's or not?

Unfortunateley Ford is Ford, and GM is GM - two different companies I’m afraid.

The Grimaldi shipping reference will start “S3-“ and will be followed by an eight digit number. This can then be used on the Grimaldi Tracking site along with your VIN to confirm the shipping status.

It outputs a screen like this….. which confirms when a car was loaded and unloaded.

We used to have a nice guy on the forum who had access to these numbers, but he’s been offline a few months now.

I’ll make a concentrated effort to get the shipment number for you all tomorrow.

Your SYNC Software is very very up-to-date, and your other modules were bang up-to-date until last week when some new FDRS updates came out.

If you go to Settings --> General --> SYNC Version you should see "SYNC 21197 PRODUCT Rev 253"

So short answer: You don't have anything to worry about.

Randomly, checked the wheresmymme site this morning and it appears the manifest is tracking now, might be worth checking yours too? Seems like it's definitely on the torino as it shows ETA to Antwerp on the 28th March!

Regards shipping numbers - well it looks like Louis (the whereismymme site owner) has come through. I’d been chatting with him about the shipping part of the tracker and the fact that our VIN’s weren’t processing properly last week. Grimaldi recently changed the web address of their RORO tracker and I wasn’t sure if that was what had broken the site - but no matter it’s working now which is great news! Saves me a phone call to Grimaldi Customer Services today LOL

In regards to the software - that SYNC version is sooo up-to-date it makes my eyes hurt ? My 2022 is set to the same SYNC build, and that’s the equivalent of Power-Up 2.4 ish. Not saying it will be bug free, but it’s as new as it gets

Further to our previous communication please see below the response to your matters raised.

Electric Opening of Front Luggage Compartment via SYNC 4A, FordPass & Key Fob
We have spoken to our North American and EU teams off the back of the follow-up query. They have updated us that UK vehicles produced in Mexico in H2 2021 received the software to access the front trunk via SYNC 4A and the keypad in the B-Pillar. This was applied in plant as part of the manufacturing process.
For UK vehicles produced earlier, the timing for the deployment of the Ford Power-Up software update is still aligned with what we communicated last month.
We recognise the improvement required on the speed and level of information released as part of future software updates. We have requested more comprehensive information to be included in release notes for each update moving forwards to better inform you of the enhancements being delivered.
Introduction of Mustang Branded, 5 Button Key
As per last month’s letter, we escalated the situation to the global Mustang Mach-E programme management team and expressed the significant dissatisfaction our UK customers are experiencing.
We’re awaiting confirmation of whether the timing can be accelerated to offer the desired Mustang-branded key fob solution in 2022.
We will revert back to our customers and the UK dealer network once we have definitive clarity on this.
Insurance
We recognise the importance of the total cost of ownership to our Mustang Mach-E customers. We’ve taken additional steps in the UK vs the EU and North American specification to secure competitive insurance group ratings. We will continue to engage with the Association of British Insurers and Thatcham maintain this level of competitivity without compromising the security of the vehicle.
As it stands, the ability to include a ‘tracker’ isn’t planned but we do offer security features like SecuriAlert via FordPass which can give extra peace of mind and assurance.
I hope this helps and as advised previously we will be in touch in due course with updates.

If anyone wants to check if their Mach-E was definitely loaded onto the GRANDE TORINO which left Mexico at the end of Feb you can use the Grimaldi RORO tracker at this address….

Well my last experience of a Mach-E going through Antwerp wasn’t great (and I’m sure there’s quite a few people on here that can relate to last years debacle) I was lucky as mine had a bit of help from the Ford fairy to expedite it’s delivery.

Some cars were stuck for weeks (like 10-15 weeks) and some were there for even longer, but I think they’ve got their ? together there now and they are taking about 3 weeks from Antwerp to Dagenham.

As a rough guess I’d say
- unload on 28th March in Antwerp
- roughly 2 weeks of faffing with QA checks and Customs
- a couple of days to transfer to Vlissingen in NL
- 1 day to ship to Dagenham UK
- 1-2 weeks in Purgatory (Dagenham compound)
- Transport to dealership by late April early May
- PDI and prep by Dealership

So an early May delivery ETA is probably about right

Appreciate the info on the Antwerp side of things, i'm sure (or perhaps hopeful) they've sorted their process out to streamline things, Early May is fine by me if i'm honest, been waiting since Q1 2021, so another month or so won't kill me ?

My dealer is in Barnsley, but that's only because my dealership where i live were fairly useless haha.
