how did you do?
Mine jumped from a usual 270ish 100% to 350 last week too!
I would have got around 240 miles out of that full charge, 196 miles travelled, 48 miles of range left when I got back home. Mainly motorway miles sticking to 70mph.

Thanks for the heads up on this . I had read this as well.

Emailed the Exec Office registering my dissatisfaction.

As one who has fought from the outset for the Mustang key and been promised regular updates from Ford, I was well p***ed off when I read that!
I think that it is highly UNLIKELY that Ford would "waste" an in short supply chip just to placate a couple of thousand UK drivers in upgrading the decent Mustang key fob to include a movement sensor. I am past caring now. I see my key fob twice a day, once in the morning when it goes from the key hook in my kitchen into my pocket and once in the evening when it makes the return journey.

I was merely quoting a direct response I had from Lisa Brankin, Ford UK CEO on this issue.

Perhaps Ford are thinking a little bigger than a ‘few thousand’ in the UK market and recognising it might be useful to roll out to everyone?

Dave did you get a reply?
Hi Steve,

Yes, it was the same one posted by @Wonky_Donkey on 18/02/2022.

This was the reply all 50 of us got from the letter I instigated.

It does quote Oct’23 as the roll out date for the Mustang key. I can only assume they have achieved that sooner. ??

"The Ford Mustang Mach-E features smart connectivity where your phone can be paired to the car and as you approach the door automatically opens a small amount to gain entry."

Does it? Will it?
No and No. But if you are willing to go up 3 or 4 insurance groups then ask Ford to activate the system. Personally going by the reports of the problems those who have PAAK I don't want it anyway. It also says that if your phone battery is dead it isn't a problem as you can use the key pad on the door pillar to get in. Only problem with that is that you won't be able to start and drive the car as there is no functionality to enter a code on the main screen to start the car.
Article is from a UK based Ford dealer with lots of outlets who obviously don't know diddly squat about the cars they sell. UK MME's have NEVER had this function.

Actually, I wouldn't want it either. The marketing says it is available so I wondered if there's been an agreement with the UK insurance companies on providing it. It wouldn't be the first time that marketing spin stood in the way of actual facts. :)

Ford haven't said anything about enabling the function on their website or on vehicle specs. I can only assume that it still isn't an option

The only thing I care about with the key is getting a button that lets you open the frunk, and as my job 1 car can't even do that from the screen at the moment, it's kind of a moot point.

Just got my MME back from the garage again and it's now had the HVBJB replaced to correct the error that came up when we were driving down to Cornwall the other weekend. Glad that's done because it now means that hopefully that's all of the known issues experienced and out of the way. List of things mine has had done:

First visit:
  • Software update to clear blocked OTA update
  • Removed/readhered panoramic roof
Second visit
  • Replaced windscreen
  • Replaced offside half axle to attempt to correct CV joint clicking
Third visit
  • Replaced nearside half axle to actually fully correct CV joint clicking
  • Software update to prevent car stranding itself when the HVBJB overheats
  • Replaced leaking offside rear shock absorber
Fourth visit
  • Actual replacement of the HVBJB
The third and fourth visits were literally within two weeks of each other, only separated because we were in Cornwall for a week! In total the car's been off the road for between 5 and 6 weeks of the 11 months that I've had it. Definitely going to be writing to @Ford Motor Company to discuss what they want to compensate me with. They've still never offered the option of paying me for the fuel I had to put into the ICE cars that were what I was given whilst it was in the garage, so that's really starting to add up compared to the cost those journeys would have been in the MME.

Sorry to hear that you seem to be having so many issues with your car. Best of luck with the compensation claim. Just don't hold your breath.

Ta - I still love the car. It only took me five seconds of driving it today after having a diesel Kuga for a week to remember why it's still a superb piece of kit. The biggest problem for Ford is their reputation to be honest - this is definitely a car that really hasn't helped them with this and everyone I know is very aware of how often my one has been back to the garage; it's become a running joke and a definite reinforcer to those who like to use the "Fix Or Repair Daily" acronym.
