I expect you’ve seen this………

Thanks for all the info. This should help anyone else in the same position. :) "Take extra care not to damage the component" Special warning to me as a complete butter fingers. I won't try the DIY route and leave it to a dealer. If they break it they'll have to replace it.

The total cost give or take is not too outlandish and I now know if they try to price gouge.

After a year out…. I’m back. Picking up another Mach E next week. Have to say I’ve really missed it.
I’ve had a quick read of the latest posts and it’s a real shame there has been little progress from Ford in the last year with OTA updates, frunk release, keygate etc. ?
Nice to see the same gurus helping everyone out still! You know who you are!

Got a question on charging - wasn't there meant to be an update where the faster charge curve carried on until 90%? Mine seems to drop off at 80%. Car was built in July 22 and delivered in December 22, I'm pretty sure I have not had any OTA updates as yet, but how do I check?

Also, used my 1st Ionity last week - at Milton Keynes coachway just off M1 J14. It was really good, 10 mins for 25%, started out at 115kw but dropped to about 90kw quite quickly. It didn't work on plug and play though, I had to kick it off via the ford pass app. Also worth noting that it's 30p to use the loo - a 20p and 10p required and I had no cash!!!

In my experience it still drops at 80% but just not like a stone like it used to do prior to the update. Mine used to drop to about 7kw and after the update it was about 30kw but I very rarely go that high on DC.
There is no way to check in your car if you have it other than checking the speeds.
My car had to be updated at a dealer but then I’ve had mine since 2021. I think your car should have came with the updated charging curve.
I think the 90kw rate is about the standard rate. The car only maintains the max speed for a very short time. Of course, there are a lot of factors than can affect it.

I'm pretty sure I already know the answer to this but i live in LA LA land. Has anyone seen any more promises from Ford regarding backward compatibility of MY21 and MY22 vehicles getting BlueCruise ?

I received this response from the eSalesUK team on 3rd May 2023:
"The latest Mach-E models (MY23) are BlueCruise capable from factory production which has enabled us to calibrate the latest software and hardware within the vehicle as one complete system before sale. We are excited that BlueCruise has been so well received and are aware that there is customer interest for these updates to be made available for prior model-year vehicles. We intend to make this happen and are assessing how we can deliver these major updates to prior model year vehicles and ensuring that they meet any additional regulatory requirements. At this stage, we are not in a position to predict timing. However, we will keep customers with the compatible hardware (either AWD vehicle or RWD with Tech Pack or Tech Pack Plus) updated on BlueCruise availability through the FordPass App.

I hope this answers your query, but if you have any more concerns you can contact the BEV team who deal with all after-sale Mach-E enquiries. You can reach them via [email protected] or by calling 020235644444 then option 6"

Was wondering if anyone has been having phantom OTA updates recently.
In the last 3 weeks I’ve had the icon pop up in the car on occasion saying that an update has been successful but nothing has changed.
Yesterday, it happened a third time and it also popped up on the FordPass app as well. When you go in to the message on the app it just says that it’s unable to retrieve update details right now. Please check in-vehicle… the car just says update successful.

I’ll have had the car 2 years next month and have only had 2 successful updates prior to this due to the issue with 1.7.1. The dealer apparently sorted it this February and it was showing as 2.1.0 before this so I was pretty much behind everyone else as far as software goes.

Mine went through a phase of receiving phantom updates a few months ago and it exhibited the same behaviour as yours.

At the time I checked Ford’s PTS OTA dashboard that the dealers use to see what it was and that showed no detail either.

My presumption was they were just test pings to the car from Ford’s OTA system to see if the server could reach you.

Thanks Wonky :) At least Ford don’t seem to have forgotten about me again….wait over a year for a OTA update then 3 come along at once!?

I take it that you got a successful update at some point after the pings?

It can be enabled on a UK vehicle using software, but isn’t switched on by default.

It’s another one of those features that got disabled by Ford UK to save our souls from higher insurance premiums ?
