Is this a thing? Heard lots of people asking for it, but hadnāt heard that Ford had said yes to adding it.if you donāt have the 360 cameras can you get the sentry cam update?
I have this already with my e-Golf and Fastned...so it depends mostly on the chargers.A few questions that I have thought of while watching the videos.
1 if you donāt have the 360 cameras can you get the sentry cam update?
2 I saw that in America there is a new system where the car connects to the charger network when plugged in and you donāt need to use an app or anything to start charging. Is this available in the UK/ Europe.
I'm in international trade finance. There is a worldwide shipping problem at the moment. Here's a snippet of the problem. When Covid hit China early last year, the shipping took that hiatus to de-commission and repair many vessels thinking demand would be slow to pick up. They got it wrong to freight rates have risen dramatically and has led ships and containers not "being in the right place".No-one appears to have a clue/know why the cars are stacking up built at the factory but not being shipped. This is starting to smell a little dodgy? Warning bells ringing?
The main problem with what you have said above is that cars were actually made before the pre-orders were converted into actual orders. A number of people on here already have their VINs and can see their cars are finished and in Mexico. Ford UK gave the pre-orders to Ford US/Mexico for production.Been reading quite a lot of comments about delivery times etc. Might be a bit of a controversial stance but I'm definitely not surprised by how its turned out. People that place pre-orders put down a refundable deposit with no order placed. Without an order being placed, lead times of 4-6 months are pretty normal for new cars. Much better than Tesla... The fact that they are able to honour those orders and still promise similar delivery times for new orders is a testament to them in this difficult time. If preorders had of been processed before the car went on general sale then that would be different. But in that case a lot of people wouldn't be happy being pressured to commit to an expensive vehicle very few people have seen. Perhaps Ford should have given people who preordered the option to actually preorder. But letting people wait for the car to be released and expertly reviewed before asking people to commit maybe isn't the worst thing they could have done.
I also think if all the first editions were all on the road months before the others they could be more easily targeted by thieves knowing that they will be rare in years to come.
I know you guys are frustrated as you've been waiting a long time. I think Fords other issue is that RH drive cars will be a very small minority of sales. So there isn't a constant stream of them coming off the Mexican production line
Fair enough but if they have produced them then they're not going to want them sat around by choice. They'll be losing money every day they are.The main problem with what you have said above is that cars were actually made before the pre-orders were converted into actual orders. I'm in exactly the same boat. Think the extra range and efficiency is worth it but that being said some of the early reviews claiming even the AWD is tail happy. Deliberately to give the car a mustang like feel. I personally think if you stick it in whisper in the wet it'll be ok. Snow will be another issue entirely but having winter tyres/chains should remove that issue too. Depends if you're expecting to drive in the snow more than a day or so a year. Need to see some of the more long term reviews. The cars reviewed up to now have been pre production so I don't necessarily buy into all the issues being stated just yet.An update from me with a April Pre-order on a ER RWD in black who wanted to change the colour. I have been told by Rebecca that I am unable to confirm to order until 21st December. Mainly due to their technical difficulties in the order process. and the colour change I want to make.
TBH, this doesn't bother me at all. Every month wait is more opportunity to save for a bigger deposit. I am doing about 50 miles a month atm with COVID anyway!
I am seeing the car in Orpington (1 hours drive!) as the car isn't due in Guildford until January. I have a few questions I hope can be answered. I'd really prefer to drive it before confirming the order but the dealer confirmed I am in no obligation to follow the order through if I hate the test drive (unlikely it seems, watching all the reviews).
Graham, one thing I am having last minute doubts over. RWD in the UK rainy weather with all that torque. What do you think? I am a sales rep and so will be doing about 20k a year in all weather. I have lingering thoughts of slipping around at every roundabout when it rains!!! I don't want to be scared of snow either. I drive an Xdrive at the moment and it's brilliant.
However, there is such a range and charging speed drop by going to a SR AWD. I don't think that is an option.
Mentioned elsewhere, there are shipping delays due to ships and containers not being in the right places in the world.Fair enough but if they have produced them then they're not going to want them sat around by choice. They'll be losing money every day they are.
Also, If they were so concerned about income, they would have prioritised the premium models.Fair enough but if they have produced them then they're not going to want them sat around by choice. They'll be losing money every day they are.
