The techcrunch review is the only really negative one I've seen so far. It's worth a read and you make your own mind up.

Yeah I don't understand why electric and 70mph doesn't work as efficient as other journeys
56 mph always been the optimum speed for the petrol engine.

I think it's due to the lack of gears. Whereas on a geared car, the consumption is more about RPM, on electric, I'm presuming the power used is directly related to the speed of the motor which would make sense.

You are right.

In saying that, I have had to make plans around the date of receiving that car. I had another child pass their test and moved around cars within the family to accommodate that. The fact is I'm having to drive for at least an extra 2 months and put excess miles on a car that is appreciating in value and not made for winter driving.

And why should Ford get away with such a huge misrepresentation? It's been shambolic unless you ordered the car recently and were totally aware of the delivery issues.

I do note that you have been relatively unaffected and I wish you lots of luck in your new car. Maybe you can come round and let me have a drive of it when you get it so I can have a chance to drive one before I get mine 2 months later!
My school of thought has been that Ford has been trying to do their best in a bad situation.

I can completely see how someone in your predicament feels totally different about that though. It’s a complete mess. Fingers crossed you can get some movement out of Ford.

As for the drive...it would probably take me about 2 months to get down there with my Standard Range so don’t know if that would be much help!?

Apart from placing our preorders into the ordering (Vista) system I don't think FordUK have had any say in the scheduling. I think that is all down to the factory or those in Dearborn so I think you will be very lucky if you get an answer to that question.
I think the original idea was to launch in US and EUR/UK at the same time but we all know why that all went pear shaped. They then concentrated on getting the cars to the US customers first just so they can still say they delivered by the end of 2020. They couldn't do this this side of the pond because of the travel times.. I have no idea why one version is easier to make than another apart from the fact that it could be down to supplies. Mine is a RWD ER and was supposedly made on 3/12 and is sitting in Mexico. I managed to contact my dealer and he gave me part of my VIN and an estimated delivery date. I managed to piece together the remaining part of my VIN and have found a window sticker for it. Has your dealer not managed to give you any information at all? As you have said, your FE is pretty much an AWD ER car. so it does seem strange that it hasn't been made yet as there has been someone on here saying that his AWD ER has also been made. My understanding is that the plant is a batch scheduling plant. If this is true then perhaps there isn't sufficient numbers of a RHD FE on the system. Admittingly this doesn't help you getting your car but could be the reason why you have this problem.
How you find your window sticker?

I've just read it. From I can can gather, it doesn't seem a very objective review. he seems to be more concerned about it not being a "Mustang" and comparing it to a Tesla. The Tesla network may be great in the US but over here, I have experience (a Model 3 in our fleet!) of parts being a nightmare to get hold of, build quality being atrocious and software that may work on wide US highways but did not impress me in the slightest on a UK motorway.

Lets hope he gives a better review when he spends some teal time with it.

Pop your complete VIN into this website: https://www.macheforum.com/site/pages/tracker/

So @portlandg and I have been looking through this, and while it shows some useful shipping info etc it is based on a US ā€œSelectā€specification which does not quite match the UK RWD ER spec.

Sorry for all the redacted bits - there’s a lot of personal info on this sheet.

I've emailed Rebecca about this mis match. She said she will pass it on to the product team so I am just waiting on a reply. As soon as I know I'll pass it on

I am worried that European reviews were not as good. However I’m sure it’s going to be fine.
I remember hearing early on how the European models have been tuned differently for the roads over here... Then I also noticed what you said in the Euro/UK reviews... they seemed to hint that the ride was quite firm, and not in a good way, whereas in the US everyone was going on about how smooth it was. Did make me wonder... they've essentially tuned for German roads, not English country lanes... could be a bit annoying if true.

I saw an article back in Feb where the Ford EU team were driving around London and UK roads in a Mach-E tuning for UK, so I'm hoping it's a software thing that they load up.

Did anyone notice the UK model is 2cm taller than the US one?

Yeah I saw that video a few weeks back. The blue car I think.
Yeah - that's the one! It was the fake blue one (a mule that got wrapped) that set the forum on fire as people thought it was a new colour LOL

I remember seeing a video with the blue wrapped car, I can’t remember who was riding shotgun, think it was Robert Llewellyn... and I think that’s where I remember hearing them saying it was tuned for European roads, but not specifically UK... but if you’ve read that we’ll get a specific tune, then that is great! I can’t remember the name of the UK video reviewer driving the LHD infinite blue Mach e in heavy fog... but he seemed less than impressed with ride comfort... that car had Dutch or German plates... perhaps it wasn’t tuned for UK? Seems unlikely ford would let that happen, right??

That 2cm height difference I had not noticed!

Oh if it's the new "What Car?" video review - that's awful! Lazy lazy journalism. He got so much wrong about the vehicle, was complaining about the build quality, and said it should have more door handles on it. I was not impressed with him LOL
