At least half the time I turn on my car the profile defaults to "guest," and I am unable to change it in SYNC even though the icon is there with my name on it. This has been happening for almost 3 weeks now. Has anyone been experiencing this or have any solutions? I have not tried deleting my profile and creating a new one yet. I have tried restarting SYNC with no success.

Yes, there have been dozens of reports of this since the 3.5.3 update. Rebooting Sync lets you choose your profile again, but the problem still comes back. Some have had luck fixing it by removing their phone from their profile and re-adding it. Others have had success by adding a 3rd profile. It’s certainly a frustrating bug.

Have you tried disabling profiles within sync and then re-enabling them?

Does this only happen if you are using PAAK? I’ve had 3.5.3 for a week and haven’t had the issue using the fob.

Thanks. I was hoping to avoid the trouble of deleting and creating a new profile, but I guess will have to bite the bullet.

You don't need to delete your profile, and I'm not sure that would fix it if you did. The suggestions that have worked for people are to create new profiles so that you have a total of 3 or to remove your phone from your profile and add it again.

That's a little different (at least for me). When remote starting, the car tends to default to the Guest profile. But once you get into the car and hit the Power button, you can change the profile to the correct one. With this new bug, you can't actually change the profile away from Guest.

I just noticed this as well tonight after I about shot out into the road before realizing that one pedal driving was turned off. There really needs to be some warning about that, its dangerous. After fighting with it I went into my profile and noticed none of my key fobs were associated with my profile so I added mine back to it. Not sure if that is the cause or not. I'll find out the next time I go back to the car. My phone is still associated with my profile and is always with me. If adding the fob back doesn't work, I'll add another profile or just turn off the customized profiles all together as I'm the only one that drives the car anyway. Just didn't want to have to reset all my preferences.

I am seeing a similar issue and cannot find a way around it. I will get into the car with fob and phone in pocket, turn it on and it sets me to Guest. I push the Memory 1 button, which has worked in the past to change my profile...but not today. When attempting switch it manually, it shows our profiles, but will not allow a change out of Guest.

Any one else experiencing this?

Reboot SYNC. That's what I had to.
