Went in for the 30K service but because I do my own cabin filter (mice out here in the woods) and have winter tires switched with tire rotation for free there was nothing for them to do they just did a check on the computer statuses. Had 9 errors!
They gave me a loaner and started an overnight software upload.
The day after I got it back I had the first OTA in 7 months. This morning I went out and have the Blue Cruise 1.3 package.
Nothing ever popped up on the screen about errors to tell me!

I had an issue similar to this when I got my MachE.

It would not update for months and months, even though every one else was getting updates.
Talked to BEV team, tried everything from resets, etc and so on. Nothing worked.

Took it to the dealer, they kept it for a couple of days, did manual updates and everything has been working like magic since.

For some reason there was an error and it would not receive OTA's. Manual updates at the dealer fixed the issue.

...but yea, you will not get a warning, or error message.

I havent gotten any updates for about 2 years now, and went to the dealer a couple months ago, but they did not mention any errors. So I am curious did you ask them to the updates? Or did they say they would do it because of the errors that popped up?

I I go to my Ford Dealer where I purchased my Mach-E FE and ask to check for Software Updates will/should they charge to check? I still have Blue Cruise 1.1 and would like 1.3.

my dealer charges by the hour for updates unless its mandated by Ford and paid for by Ford. They say updates can take an hour or several hours so you never know how much you pay.

I wish a company like Fixd would come up with an OBD2 module for EV’s. The one for ICE cars lets you clear the codes with your phone. I’d buy one in a heartbeat. https://www.fixd.com/

You can scan and clear codes with basically any Bluetooth OBD2 adapter and an app like Car Scanner.

What you can't do, even with fixd, is what people are talking about about in this thread, manually installing updates for the modules. As far as I am aware, that is FDRS only, which you can access as an individual, but it's not something you can use from a phone.

There was an update some time ago that for some cars messed up the communications so OTA updates got borked. Add the fact that 2021s were on update hold for the better part of 2024, and it could have been some time between OTAs getting installed on 2021s. My 2021 received its last OTA update in May of 2024, while the FordPass app’s messages said that my last successful update was in November of 2023. I fully updated my 2024 via FDRS about a month ago. It has not received any OTAs, but I have only had it since Black Friday. ??
