Update on Mach-E launch progress from engineering friends in Mexico

I have told so many people now I feel like I have a crowd around me waiting on this car! I am getting questions back from them. Where's your car? Where's that Mustang? Then there's my brother who just bought a 2008 Porsche. You want to hear a guy talk about a car? Just have a guy buy his midlife crisis car...

Yeah seriously.

I can get a bit OCD on major purchases... Like when I bought my first HDTV or a few years ago when I needed to replace my refrigerator... But those were nothing. This freaking 1 year+ wait to replace my stupid Fiesta is bringing me SO FAR DOWN into this rabbit hole of learning to love electric cars. ? ... not to mention the prior years where I was reading about (and considering accepting the compromises if I were to buy) Ioniqs or Niros!

Ooh, the first one is impressive coverage. Less than a second of the Mach E during a statement about building their most iconic models electric:

Wow! Throwing some shade at GM in that first one (there is a quick blink and you'll miss it view of GM's HQ when he talks about building more cars in North America than any other manufacturer).

As far as pummeling relatives about the Mach-E...not so much here. I've already done that with the Focus Electric. That was shorter, however, order to delivery was a mere 2 months but I told everyone about it during those 2 months LOL. People were calling "did you get the car?"

I can only imagine what you guys are going through for these past 10 months and counting LOL. Sure I'm excited about it but it will be my 3rd BEV and 4th plugin... I get more flak becuase "its not a Mustang" LOL (thought about a personalized plate of "NOTMSTNG" but wife nixed that idea--might get keyed a lot less with that plate).

A friend asked me yesterday when he can go for a ride. He saw my posts on Facebook and Twitter where I showed a picture of my installed Grizzl-E. He said, "you're not getting the car for months and you installed the charger? I thought you had the car?" I said Rick, how long have you known me? I am the one always 15 minutes early for the meeting, and my worst nightmare was to have the car and no way to fuel it.

Same here. I would have my charger already installed, too if it weren't for NJ's bureaucracy. There's a $500 EVSE rebate program that was legislated back in January but the utility commission hasn't put the program in place yet, and it is unclear if you will get the rebate prior to the program being in place. Hopefully they do it soon so I can get the fed 30% rebate to cover installation costs.

And like here you might need to have a VIN # to get it.

Funny, the situation is reversed for me when my wife talks about whatever it is she goes on about.. something about facebook.. or something.. not sure..

My wife pretends to be interested while she is mostly looking at text messages and facebook. Her father worked at the Ford Rouge plant when she was growing up so at least she's excited that it's a Ford. She does like the red stitching though

Yes, my brother has to pretend because he has that Porsche and I have to be patient when he is going on and on and on about his. WE catch each other looking at car porn all the time ?

126 units were built last week. Most of them are Ford Reps cars and a few demo models.

Also North America according to the marketing manager for the Mach-E, nobody will get a VIN for a retail Mach-E until mid-October.

2 orange Gt models went down the assembly line last week, getting shipped to europe for advertising.
