I’m sorry, which milestone is MP2 again? Is that the one when they can begin building units that can be sold to customers?
Yes. Mass Production 1 was dealer demo and employee cars, as well as the ones to be officially tested. Mass Production 2 is customer cars

Approval to proceed with MP2 was granted yesterday, two days ahead of schedule per Jim Farley. Thanks to the tremendous efforts of the launch team.
Can you clarify something? I've always been under the impression that OKTB was granted after MP1. So the process was MP1->OKTB->MP2. This doesn't seem to be the case since the process is apparently MP1->?->MP2->OKTB->Ship.

So what is "?"? :rolleyes:

I don't think anything in this process has been 'normal'. It's all been different than prior launches, online reservations, online ordering, online eCommerce checkout..... so I don't know that we can compare the Mach-E with prior launch processes.

What I've heard is as you stated: MP1->OK to go to MP2 given yesterday->MP2->OKTB->Ship them out.

The online is new... the rest is standard stuff. The events (OKTB, MP2, etc.) are milestone dates in the product development system. Each milestone requires management approval in order for the process to proceed past it. Think of them as red traffic lights, where Ford management has the button to turn them from red to green.

So this is the seating height from the ground? This is not too far from my entry height into my Explorer and seems slightly higher than the height into an Audi Q5. That makes it SUPER for me!!!! Thanks for sharing. Now I am even more excited for my the Ford Tour visit that I scheduled for next Thursday.
I thought this sounded good at first, but when I got home I measured my Escape at the same point, and got 28". That's would make the Mach-e 3 inches shorter. Ouch.

Not a deal-breaker, but disappointing. ☹

I think that sounds (looks) about right - eye balling the picture above and all things being equal (floor of car to seat height) the lower ground clearance is still going to show in overall reduction in seating position. I cant sit in a sedan comfortably but can live with 3 inches shorter height than in my current SUV.

I thought about that, but not sure there's that much play straight up/down. It's more tilt. But I'll test it on the Escape.

The Escape is about 17" to the door edge. Looks like about 16.5" (42 cm) in that picture, although the camera angle could be a little deceiving. Plus that doesn't necessarily mean much as it could have a deeper floor.

Just guessing, but the Mach-E may have a shallower floor due to the battery underneath.

It's only up to OKTB
And there are exactly 50 of those that are Ford Upper-level cars.
Everyone who placed an order is in the system.

The high-level specs are units with special (paint, trim, equipment package, battery, etc..)
A little bit of everything.

Waiting for the “In Production” green light Monday.
There were zero MP1 class 1 calls which is a testament to how well it's being built.
