Are deliveries expected to begin on 12/21?
That is doubtful...from reading this thread, it doesn't seem that many if any vehicles have actually left Mexico. They will probably ship the dealer demo vehicles first.

That's probably optimistic. I'd guess the following week we might see some arriving. And even then, probably not many, as the bulk of those could be FCTP demos that have been sitting there for over a month.

FWIW a map of auto rail yards where our MME could be loaded and unloaded.

The saying in my industry... All rail leads to Chicago.

I really wish they would tortally wrap the new models for transport like some premium models do. Lots of scratches can happen during a long transport.

It is Dec 13th. With a 2 to 3 week timeline for delivery, it is looking like very few vehicles will be delivered in 2020..........

Just surprising that Ford would not have a better grip on shipping. This is not their first rodeo!!!

Looks like their experience has told them where to place the protection, but I'd opt for about 50% more than what I have seen.

I can't believe Ford hasn't hired you guys. Clearly you have more expertise than those who've worked in the business for decades.
While I'm happy to leave this to the Ford team to figure out, people in the same industry for decades don't necessarily always have the freshest of ideas.

Yes, and rather than speculating based on uninformed intuition they have huge quantities of real situational information. It's like the difference between making a Coronavirus vaccine using messenger RNA based on the actual genome of the virus, and suggesting that we should try "blue light" or heat.

Institutional knowledge is invaluable. Let's just hope there is a few new perspectives in the decision making room as well.
