I talked to my dealer and was told they didn't order a demo vehicle, so my first drive will be in mine when it comes. I'm committed, regardless. I want the car and have waited too long to say no at this point. The reviews have been overwhelmingly good, so there's nothing that could change my mind. I'm just glad they're shipping and very happy for all of you that will see yours in the next few weeks. Looking forward to hearing all the rave reviews and seeing the pictures of happy new MME owners.

I'm looking forward to the first person who checks the tech tracker site and reports that their car has a SHIPPING DATE. Anyone??

Looks like you need to learn a little more before trying to throw shade in the dark.
I'm not sure where you are getting shade from, I literally just asked for any sort of proof other than a single pic from a marketing executive (that doesn't use the word OKTB and has euro license plates) and the word of someone on an internet forum who says they're a Ford employee.

I didn't call him a liar, I didn't question his credentials/intelligence/intentions, I just asked for any sort of corroborating evidence. I don't have any reason to doubt that he works at Ford, but I also don't have any proof of that either. It's likely that he's totally legit and totally right, but if you believe everything you read on the internet without any supporting proof, then I have a bridge I'd like to sell you.

CD Projekt Red is in the news right now because their marketing guys promised the world, and the internet got on board with it. Hype is real, and it can effect any industry. I'm about to wrote a $60,000 check for this car, so forgive me for fact checking it a little more thoroughly than a $60 video game.

Not what you're hoping to hear, but mine was scheduled 11/20, completed 12/5, and has no ship date yet. When it does come up, you guys will be the first to know.

I know you're new to the forum, but those of us with more than a few days in know the group I call "the insiders" know their stuff. Some are Ford employees that have trusted information like @trutolife27 who has been the most helpful/trusted in the forum. If he says it, we can run with it. @ChasingCoral has a contact that works at the plant in Mexico. Another source of reliable information. Neither owes it to us to say anything, but we always appreciate it. There are others, too, that provide invaluable information.

Again, I know you're new here, but these guys are a wealth of information. I think you're entitled to ask questions to be well informed about your purchase, but I'll caution you against asking for "proof".

Sure, being skeptical online is generally a good policy. However, you should also not assume everyone else is a rube that doesn't know better. There are several Ford insiders on here (@trutolife27 is among them) that have been feeding us correct inside information for a long time.

It's not your fault that you haven't been here all along to know that, but it also pays not to presume that you're the smarted guy in the room you just walked into, either.

I'd add that in the case of @trutolife27 - he hasn't just claimed to be an employee, he has supplied information that has proven after the fact to be valid, information that is "insider." While that's not absolute proof of employment, it's proof of sufficient knowledge that the actual "employee" checkbox doesn't really matter tbh.

however, skepticism about apparent randos on a rando forum is completely justified, and I'm not going to hold that against @theblueone . Too many people don't have appropriate skepticism nowadays.

I get that, and I'm not asking anyone to reveal anything more than they're comfortable sharing, especially if it's insider information. Hell, I'm not giving out my VIN and my profile is pretty sparse, and I'm just some guy. And you're right, I am new here. But so is everyone else. It's hard for me to personally validate anyone when the oldest accounts on the forum are from early this year.

All that I know for myself is that I had one of the earliest build dates (that people elected to share publicly) and that so far I haven't seen anything to imply that the time after trutolife27's post is any different than the time before it. What I'm saying is that we're going on some other internet person's word, while nobody has been able to post a shot of a shipping date or anything similar.

I'm not going to gatekeep the OKTB hype train, everyone who wants to should get right on board. Personally, I'm going to take it with a grain of salt until my own desire for corroborating evidence is satisfied. If you don't like my take on it, I won't be offended if you ignore me. I'm just some guy on the internet, and I wouldn't take my word as fact without proof either.

Healthy dose of skepticism, I get it.

True but @theblueone just arrived on 12/4 and rather than spending that 2 weeks looking back through the forum posts, or even just this thread, has decided to alienate people with who are sharing the inside information they can make public.

Is there a way to hide all posts from particular authors?
Yes and I think I know who's rapidly approaching being next on that "ignore" list.

Exactly - nothing like test driving the actual car you may be purchasing.
I have NEVER test driven any of the cars I bought (and by my list of vehicles you can see it was a lot of new cars!). I relied on articles and recommendations from various respected publications, did my research for months and had my mind made up as to which model, packages, etc. I wanted. As I never ordered a car before either (except for the 2021 Mustang Mach E) this has always worked with the exception of the Plymouth Volare (the Vega was a piece of crap too but it was the only secondhand car I have ever purchased; did this when I left active duty in the Army and didn't know about the aluminum block). I fell for that ad with Sergio Franchi singing "Volare' " What a mistake as I made an impulse buy and didn't research the car. The car kept on dying out and as my wife drove it with our brand new first baby (daughter) this was dangerous and unacceptable. No matter how many times I brought it to the dealer they could never find out what was wrong and later it turned out the cars were badly designed.
