The silver’s are their least heavy duty shocks with same or less dampening than OEM. You will probably be ok but I always use the Whites as the are much more firm with the reds being very firm.
I though the Excel-G series (BLACK) are the stock level, and Gas-a-just ( SILVER ) are one step above the OEM. I don't see any white products at all.. https://www.kyb.com/products/

Hi Mark, do you think the belstein B6 is a good solution for ride improvement? Basicly, both the compression and rebound damping will be higher. I just ordered two rear B6.

In my first post in this thread I mentioned I tested the B6’s along with others. You need a soft compression and firm rebound. Much more firm than any other shock can provide other than the Koni yellow sport shocks since they have an adjustable rebound. The B6 Bilstein’s were only slightly better than the OEM shocks at taming the bounce on the ‘21 Premium that I tested them in. Also the freeway had very prominent transition strips which really made the car bounce. Only the Koni’s eliminated this bounce. Your results could vary depending on your roads and trim level of your car.

Sadly custom builds and KW's are going to be 'the best' you can get. Reality is it's going to put your cost really close to the fact you should have gone magnaride first. Expensive bandaides on a premium will still make it a premium. I bought mine after a short test drive on a couple new roads. Knowing I was having to stick to a premium because: 1. I needed the range 2. at the time GTPE's were being listed at $92k or a 6 month to year long wait for an order 3. The GTPE was the only magnaride
Now the GT has magnaride and is MSRP'd at what I ended up paying for a nearly 2 yr old Premium. At some point you end up in a give and take trying to fix the bounce, only to end up with a double bounce or overall harsh ride. Engineering needs to make some changes. With what i have done my car rides very very similar to a Magnaride car EXCEPT magnaride can (and mostly does) dampen out all the little imperfections wilst still being able to choke the bounce. Unless you get an active suspension you can't have the best of both worlds with this geometry. But you can go broke trying for sure !

Thanks Mark, the B6 you have tested is for Mustang ICA, just like the Koni Yellow, not designed specifically for MME? In China, there are no Koni Yellow for sale, so I think the B6 is the best choice for me, and it has a good price(less than $300 for a pair of rear B6). I will test B6 in October and let you know if it works.

First, a big thanks to everyone who has participated in this thread. Your contributions have helped me.

Next, I installed the Koni Sport rear shocks today, As per the original recommendations, I set the rebound to max ( two turns out).

Bounce has definitely been reduced. The ride is still firm, but I like that.

Changing to Michelin CrossClimate 2 tires has also reduced harshness.

Til next time.

Dave

Anyone happen to have a set of stock rear shocks laying around? (Prem or GT don't matter)

It is sooooo tempting to do this; my lease will end in 2 years, and I'm not sure what I will do. I've done a few basic mods and tints, so I'm leaning on keeping it. Maybe doing this will push me more towards keeping it !!

Summit racing has the Koni shocks priced at $243.

1. I assume that we ignore the bold and capped "2005-2014 MUSTANG" on the item name.
2. The picture shows 2 shocks, so is that the price for the 2? The item's page doesn't provide a clear answer.

I ended up ordering a new pair for the rear. I was going to need bump stops etc and after realizing shipping was going to suck I figure maybe new shocks will last 2 years or more.

Except, both times i've ordered rear shocks today, they canceled them. So I'm still out the rears as of now. Might go the B6 route as I'm running out of desire to keep dealing with fordpartsgiant.
