We just had an Emporia level two charger installed. And I have noticed more than once now when I check the status of the charge on my Ford app, that it appears to be charging to 100% even though I have set the max to 80% (and the car is at 80 or 81% when I have checked it). The only place I know to set the max charge to 80% is in the FordPass app so I’m wondering why it seems to be overridden. Thoughts?

Ok thx. Will do. However, you would think that the software application would work correctly. But thanks for the tip. I will update it in the car.

Make sure you have the charge location saved in the car. Then you can set the charge % in the car as well.

Also, in my case depending on where I park my car on my driveway, it will think it's either at my house or at my neighbors house (my driveway is not that long, about 2 car lengths long and 2 car widths wide.)

So If I park a few feet to the other side of the driveway, it will not follow the pre-set charge limit because it thinks it's at my neighbors house and therefor it doesn't have a saved charging location. So I always try to park it in the spot where the on board GPS thinks it's at my house (with the saved charging location).

Have had the car nearly a year, haven't had any issues with it stopping at my pre-set 90% charge limit with my empria.

Well, I checked the charging setting directly in my car and it is also set at 80%. I park my car in the same location every single time in the garage. The only thing I can think of is to reset my home location.

Delete the location in the car. Charge once. Add the location back in and set the charge % from the car.

Look at the location of your car on the Fordpass map. mine says I'm in my neighbors driveway. Might have to reset home in order to be correctly out of place.

Yes, it doesn’t indicate my correct location. It’s been that way since I first got the car. Someone had a suggestion to delete the location and re-add it and that’s what I will try.

I added a second EVSE in my garage and did not have to do anything. The originally-set location works on either one.

Interesting. But i don’t see how THAT helps me with my issue. sry.
currently have deleted my location. And now must charge one time before setting new location. We’ll see how that goes.

Charge for a few minutes and you can add the location.

Oh dopey me. The FordPass screen is a bit confusing. I set the max charge to 80% and the charging DOES stop when it reaches 80% but the screen ALSO shows that the system will charge to 100% by a certain time. Once the maximum charge reaches 80% it remains that way EVEN THOUGH the screen says it will charge to 100%:
