Volkswagen's ID 4 electric crossover debuted in September with an estimated range of 250 miles from its 82-kilowatt-hour battery pack. According to a report Tuesday by InsideEVs, that range estimate has now been confirmed by the EPA.

The ID 4 is the first VW ID model to be sold in the US and is powered by a single rear-axle motor that produces 201 horsepower and 228 pound-feet of torque. The ID 4 will be available later in 2021 with a dual-motor, all-wheel drive setup and a different maximum estimated range.

Let's try to deal with verifiable information whenever possible. People can make mistakes in reading but there's nothing on the VW website regarding range for the awd id.4 variant. And a simple check of various articles indicates the current range estimates are for the RWD version of the id.4

Nothing is gained by comparing apples and kumquats.

Nothing spec-wise has been released for the AWD version as of yet. Please don't fool yourself into thinking you're getting something other than what's been promised (which as of yet is nothing for the AWD).

Both are delicious.

I visited the self-claimed kumquat capital of the world and had all sorts of cold dishes featuring kumquat. All sorts of stuff. Salad, cold soup, tuna, bread... (was baked elsewhere, this place didn't have a restaurant license).

Can we all just accept that he has not nor will he ever admit a mistake/misstatement, and will instead drag everyone down a rabbit hole of nonsense to avoid that admission? The Pro S comes in RWD in “early 2021” and awd later. Whatever the case may be range wise, I hope you enjoy the car.

I have an ID4 on order. And I still need to decide MME or ID4. My heart is all in for the MME.

"Standard" and "Pro S (Statement)" are trim levels. Similar to MME Standard C's Premium.

You can then get Standard or Pro S in RWD or AWD. And as stated, the performance specs for AWD have not been released.

Here are the screenshots of the order site showing RWD/AWD is an option for Standard or Pro S.

How dense are you? Every spot on the VW site that mentions The 250 mi range, there is a number 5 superscript. When you click the 5 it says that the range for awd models will be different, which means less.

The Pro s is a trim package, and it can be ordered in rwd and awd configurations. The rwd will have 250 mi range and the awd will be less.
