Not exactly an ironclad guarantee of anything at all.
True. It’s also in contrast to the assumptions that Ford is doing nothing about it. I sure don’t expect my car to get an improvement in performance before my loan hits the balloon payment, but I will likely be holding onto the car for a couple of years after I pay off the balloon. At that point, who knows? I might get another Ford. I might get a Stellantis. I might get something foreign. ?‍♂?

But it’s still not a “no.”

The reality is they’ve had plenty of time to test and know if it’s possible. Sounds more like they’re not ready to announce anything yet and software rollouts are…….slow.

But Ford has definitely been toying with the idea for years.

My mom did the same thing when I was a little kid. She'd always say "we'll see" instead of saying "no", but the outcome was the same...
LOL. My wife does the same, especially on Friday & Saturday nights. ?

"Gal" is just informal. It is not the least bit disrespectful. Nor was it disrespectful in the 1960s. Take it from a longtime guy.

Sincerely,
Mellow phil.
It used to be informal, but now it’s offensive. Language evolves all the time. It was perfectly fine in the 60s, but that doesn’t make it fine now. Lots of things we said in the 60s and 70s and 80s were “fine”, and now they are not. Add this one to the list.

And thanks for making fun of my handle Phil, you’re on a roll.

The language did not change, your hypersensitivity did. People are just going out of their way to be "offended" nowadays. Mellow out, Johnny. You'll live longer.

This has to be a joke response.

I’m sure that women everywhere are happy to have you are speaking for them on how language has changed in 50 years... Good lord

And while it certainly isn’t blatantly offensive, the originally context was absolutely diminishing towards Donna Dickson.

This makes no sense. I don't speak for women, I speak for users of the English language. As a native speaker and student with long experience, I am well qualified on the subject.

I agree with this. Miss Dickson would be justifiably offended by the comments, but she should take no offense whatsoever from the word "gal" itself. It is also worth noting that an offensive comment may be either true or false.

About the decision to force sharing of Driver Data to have access to basic EV functions (like app-based charging status and departure settings).

This was both a biz and sw decision. Why?

When you know better, you do better Phil. I guess you don't know any better. Nice to see the confluence of ignorance and arrogance is alive and well.

And my name isn't Johnny...

Dear Donna: Can you have a software update make the car a mind reader, so that it always connects to my wife's phone first instead of mine? I'm tired of getting yelled at. Thanks!

I mean, Donna IS impressive. It’s hard to get where she is. I just have absolutely no faith in Ford any longer, and it’s legitimately sad. Don’t get me wrong, the MME as it is is a good product, and these are meaningful improvements.

However, for around the same price point of the MME Rally, the Ionic 5 N looks to be better in every performance metric, except for range, and way better charging. The Kia GT performance wise is a much better car as well, range isn’t great though. The new M3P is way less expensive, and has way better 0-60, and would probably be the way to go if you don’t mind a Tesla. The throttling proactively to prevent damage is way too strict on the MME. I am afraid that Ford did too little, and way too late, and aren’t going to improve performance for current owners.

Yeah, I just looked at the specs of the BorgWarner motors that the 21-23 GTPE has in front and rear (I think?). Peak power 210 kw per motor, so that would be 563.229 HP if both motors were going full out. Ford totally neutered the GTPE, but why?

It will be interesting to know what the specs on the new in house motor are, but I strongly doubt they are better in terms of peak power than the BorgWarner.
The suspicion is that there are input limitations to what can be supplied to the motors. Despite what the motors are capable of taking, there's a bottleneck somewhere that the engineers decided couldn't take more than 5 seconds of 1080 amps.
