What is Park Pilot (EU)?

Hi all,

I just got a Mach E SR RWD.

I got the |P| park button beside the hazard button but when I click it, there is just an option to enable or disable Park Pilot. I can't find any information online.

Can somebody please explain what this feature is for? It is enabled but I have no clue what it does.

I found this by googling Park pilot Ford it appears it’s just showing you that the parking system is operating and will beep or show you if you’re too close to something it has nothing to do with self parking or auto retrieval of a vehicle which is still coming. Just indicates the sensors are active and notice objects are close Enough to turn them on

In the US, on MY 21 MME's the |P| button is the active park assist button. It will parallel park your car for you. As a recall there is a toggle in the settings page for it to disable it. The Job 2 US manual has a description on page 218.

Thanks both! I was thinking maybe EU has the auto park feature (park assist etc) disabled due to some rule as it is pointless having that button if it does nothing. When I put the car in reverse, the camera does show but there is also an option to disable the sensors so no beeping.

Having the park button has no proper purpose then unless it will eventually be a thing for us EU folk in a future update?

Fingers crossed as I would love that My previous Peugeot 3008 GT Line had it which was amazing.

Some of the European Mach-Es do have Active Park Assist. If I recall correctly for a 2021 model, you would need the extended range battery to have this feature. I might be remembering this wrong -- but certainly, it was on some trims/packages and not others.

When you go in reverse, do you see a top down 360 degree surround view? If so, I think you also have Active Park Assist. If you only see a rear camera view, you don't have the extra hardware required for APA.

I've never seen the term Park Pilot before... But I did a quick search and found a video demoing its Park Pilot's parallel park feature from back in 2012. Maybe "Park Pilot" is regional.

I’m in the U.K. and the button is held down while the car automatically parks itself. I believe due to chip shortages the Park Assist feature has been removed from some recent vehicles in which case I’m not sure what the button does in those circumstances.

I was talking about post 3 as well. It starts talking about the process but ends at step 1...

Anyway. I watched the video and it gives very little confidence that it works very well. That and he had to stop it twice because he felt it was doing a dangerous job. So I’m in no hurry to try it anyway.

Simply open your personal copy of your manual and read the rest of the instructions.

There is nothing dangerous at all. I found that video because all the others are a different switch/button combination than the Mach-E.
