I think that my Ford charger has just given up. after 2 1/2 years. I need a good plug-in replacement. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

what features are you interested in for your unit? do you want "smart" features for monitoring your charge and/or gather data to integrate with a home automation system? would you like to integrate it with an existing or future solar power system? do you just want a solid no frills unit that charges your car every time without fuss or any bells and whistles?

i currently have a Wallbox Pulsar Plus that provides me with smart features so i can monitor usage with my home automation system (home assistant) and check on status, alert in case of a charging fault, etc and all separate from the flaky fordpass app.

i bought and eventually returned an EnelX Juicebox because it started out providing all of those smart features but then the company unceremoniously killed those features and it effectively became just a basic no-frills charging unit.

consider what you want out of it before diving into options since there are MANY to choose from.

You say plug-in charger. Is this for portable use or do you leave it plugged in at home?

I quit assuming I knew what poorly worded forum posts meant.

I have used a Grizzl-E and have my old Ford cable in my car.
It depends what your receptacle is.
I opted for a 50 amp breaker and the 14-50 receptacle.
I now get as much as 37 miles per charging hour. The Grizzl-E comes with a 14-50 plug and cost less than $400 on Amazon.

This is actually an important question. I had the same question, actually. I am eyeballing the Tesla mobile unit so I can throw out my used once Ford Mobile Charger. It’s relatively cheap (well, cheaper than the FMC) and can plug into a variety of different outlets if you get the proper mains pigtails for it. ??
