When will Mach-E owners be able to open the frunk using Fordpass app?

You can do it with the 7-8 button on the driver’s door, but you have to enter your code first, so I’m not sure it’s really any faster.
I only have a Fusion Hybrid but I can unlock the car on the door pad and open the trunk in four seconds or less. I doubt anyone can pull their smartphone out, power it on, unlock the screen, open the app, find the menu option, and press it in lesser time. In fact I can lock or unlock the car using that door pad faster than anyone pulling out a fob to do the same function.

I expect Ford to keep that door pad on all their vehicles in the future. No other car manufacturer offers it. And it saves on replacing the fob cell.

Wait. I am lost. You cannot open the frunk remotely? Or you have to pay to open it? What's the question?
2021 Job 1 cars do not have the ability, by any means, to open the Frunk other than with the manual lever inside the car. For everyone else, it’s a moot point. More or less.

As long as they can open the Frunk by means other than manually. True. (Just avoid confusion among those who don’t understand ancient Mach-es. ;))

My 2022 GT allows me to open the frunk from the screen in the car or my phone. Also the trunk. It was delivered on May 13th, so it is a very new build. It is still buried down a menu level in the car. Of course, the foot release on the trunk doesn't work, but I verified all the hardware is there.

Funny stuff. Ford can send OTA Powerups to give the car the ability to drive it’s self (yes an exaggeration but not really) but Ford can’t seem to make a button on the phone unlock the frunk, which already has buttons to unlock the doors, and start the car, and extend the time of starting the car, and roll up the windows, and roll down the windows, and make the horn sound and lights flash. ?

Thank goodness I can check the tire pressures, and battery level.

It’s a conspiracy!
They can do it, it’s just not a priority. Once BC is all out, I’m sure we’ll start seeing stuff like that come out.

I have a GTPE (Job2 - July 2021 build) and I still don't have the Frunk Button. Don't feel left out. We'll get it one day.

I did it today.

Still have a 5 second limit on power though. I’d trade in a hot second.

Later in the year for Job 1 cars I’d bet. BlueCruise first of course. Aka soon™

You can pop the frunk from the keypad on the B pillar? Wow, did not know that. But I guess I'd have to remember my B pillar code to do that. Must look that up. I've never seen that. Is there a video out there?

To be fair, the doors don’t unlock reliably, either.

I don’t know if there’s a video. Just enter your code and then hit the 7-8 button (assuming you don’t have a 2021 Job 1).

Thought we would use frunk more. Maybe the need to open door and pull lever 2x is the reason. The Mrs would like to use at grocery store, but will not go to drivers door first. An option on FOB would be good for her. I am secondary driver and use FP for my key, so the option in the app would suit me fine. Ultimately, voice control would be best. I control all my lights and thermostats by just speaking to my phone or smart speakers. Voice seems the the best for safety and hands free operation.

A frunk sounded like a cool idea, but I quickly realized we'd never use it for shopping. The power liftgate in the rear with the foot activation is WAY easier. We've had that on our Escape for a decade and knew how great it is. It's a very underrated feature.

We do use the frunk a little, but only for the permanently stored stuff that we just want to keep out of the way. Paper towels, microfiber cloths, and glass gleaner for the windows; extra box of Kleenex; a few emergency tools; a couple of spare hoodies for cold restaurants, etc. It's basically the car's junk drawer. ?

Totally agree!! I doubt if I pop the hood open more than once a month and that’s just to top off the washer fluid. Opening it manually works just fine for me!
